The AirTAC Airtac SAIF Series Standard Cylinder with Valve SAIF40X700-08A is a genuine double-acting ISO 15552 cylinder with a Ø40mm bore, 700mm stroke and a built-in 4M210-08 5/2 solenoid valve — it switches itself from one coil signal, so no separate remote valve or extra plumbing is needed.
The AirTAC SAIF40X700-08A is a double-acting ISO 15552 profile cylinder featuring an integrated 4M210-08 5/2 solenoid valve. This built-in valve delivers a Cv of 0.89 and handles up to 5 cycles per second. Equipped with an AC220V terminal connection coil, it consumes 3.5 VA and activates in 0.05 seconds. Because the valve manifold mounts directly using an O8 x O5 PU tube, you eliminate remote plumbing. The cylinder port is PT1/4, while the valve features a 1/4 inch port. Operating pressure is 0.15-0.8 MPa, as the integrated valve limits the cylinder's 1.0 MPa rating. At 0.5 MPa, it provides 628N of push force and 528N of pull force.
By default, the factory setting retracts the piston rod when the coil is energised. You can reconfigure this to extend-when-energised simply by repositioning the valve. This self-switching design requires only one coil signal to operate, making it highly suited for decentralized stations across large machines. It uses a carbon steel rod and does not include a magnet for sensors.

The cylinder rates to 1.0 MPa but the built-in valve operates 0.15–0.8 MPa, so run the assembled SAIF at 0.15–0.8 MPa. Default: rod retracts when the coil is energised (reconfigurable to extend). Specs follow the official AirTAC SAIF datasheet. Port options: PT / G.

Sized within the valve's 0.15–0.8 MPa range. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical due to friction and back-pressure.

SAIF does not hold its load without air — the valve routes air, it is not a lock. For load-holding use a SAIL (lock) or BSAI (clamp-lock).
Perfect for large machines with decentralized stations, eliminating long tubing runs to a central panel.
Delivers 628N push force over a 700mm stroke for automated handling and part positioning.
Ideal for upgrading existing lines where running separate valve plumbing is costly or impossible.
Choose this 40mm bore when you need 628N push force at 0.5 MPa, or step down to a 32mm bore for 402N in lighter-duty assembly tasks. The SAIF40X700-08A is ideal when a self-valved cylinder beats installing a separate cylinder and remote valve, saving panel space and wiring. With a 700mm stroke, you must account for side loads and use appropriate guide rails to prevent rod damage. Remember that the built-in 5/2 valve routes air but does not hold the load without live pressure; for true mechanical locking, consider the SAIL series. Replacement requires matching the 40mm bore, 700mm stroke, 1/4 inch valve port, AC220V voltage, terminal entry, PT thread, and no magnet.
Quick checklist
The 40mm bore provides 628N push and 528N pull force at 0.5 MPa. The built-in 4M210-08 valve has an effective area of 16.0 mm2 (Cv 0.89).
It uses an AC220V terminal coil. The factory setting retracts the rod when energised, but you can reposition the valve to extend-when-energised. No separate remote valve is needed.
