The AirTAC Airtac SAIF Series Standard Cylinder with Valve SAIF50X250S-06A is a genuine double-acting ISO 15552 cylinder with a Ø50mm bore, 250mm stroke and a built-in 4M210-06 5/2 solenoid valve — it switches itself from one coil signal, so no separate remote valve or extra plumbing is needed.
The AirTAC SAIF50X250S-06A is a double-acting ISO 15552 profile cylinder featuring an integrated 4M210-06 5/2 solenoid valve. This built-in valve provides a Cv of 0.78 and routes air directly through a PU tube (O8 x O5) manifold, eliminating the need for separate remote valve plumbing. Driven by an AC220V terminal coil drawing 3.5 VA, it activates in 0.05 s. While the bare cylinder rates to 1.0 MPa, the integrated valve limits the practical SAIF operating pressure to 0.15-0.8 MPa.
Delivering 982 N of push force at 0.5 MPa (and up to 1767 N at 0.7 MPa), this 50 mm bore unit is equipped with a magnet for CMSE reed and DMSE electronic sensors. By default, the factory setting retracts the piston rod when the coil is energised, but you can reconfigure it to extend-when-energised simply by repositioning the valve. This self-contained switching design is ideal for decentralized stations across large machines.

The cylinder rates to 1.0 MPa but the built-in valve operates 0.15–0.8 MPa, so run the assembled SAIF at 0.15–0.8 MPa. Default: rod retracts when the coil is energised (reconfigurable to extend). Specs follow the official AirTAC SAIF datasheet. Port options: PT / G.

Sized within the valve's 0.15–0.8 MPa range. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical due to friction and back-pressure.

SAIF does not hold its load without air — the valve routes air, it is not a lock. For load-holding use a SAIL (lock) or BSAI (clamp-lock).
Ideal for large assembly lines where running individual valve tubing back to a central manifold is costly and complex.
The built-in valve and manifold block save valuable panel space, fitting neatly into tight machine enclosures.
Upgrades standard SAI cylinders to self-switching units without requiring extensive pneumatic replumbing.
Choose this 50 mm bore SAIF when you need higher force than a 40 mm bore (which provides 628 N push at 0.5 MPa) but want a more compact footprint than the 63 mm version (1559 N at 0.5 MPa). The integrated 4M210-06 valve with its 1/8" PT port makes it perfect for space-tight machines where running separate valve tubing is costly. Because the 5/2 valve only routes air, it does not hold the load without live pressure; for true position holding under air loss, consider the SAIL lock or BSAI clamp-lock cylinder series.
When specifying a replacement, verify the 50 mm bore, 250 mm stroke, 1/8" valve port, AC220V voltage, terminal entry, PT thread, and the -S magnet. The 250 mm stroke exceeds 300 mm but is still under the 1200 mm maximum for this bore, so standard guiding should be used to manage side loads. The cylinder port is 1/4", which differs from the 1/8" valve port, so never confuse the two during installation.
Quick checklist
The 50 mm bore cylinder provides 982 N of push force at 0.5 MPa and 1767 N at 0.7 MPa. The built-in 4M210-06 valve has an effective area of 14.0 mm2 (Cv 0.78) and a maximum frequency of 5 cycles per second.
The integrated 5/2 valve is driven by an AC220V terminal coil. By default, the rod retracts when energised, but it can be reconfigured to extend-when-energised by repositioning the valve. The valve only routes air; it does not lock the load without live pressure. For load holding, use SAIL or BSAI cylinders.
