The AirTAC Airtac SAIF Series Standard Cylinder with Valve SAIF63X160S-08B is a genuine double-acting ISO 15552 cylinder with a Ø63mm bore, 160mm stroke and a built-in 4M310-08 5/2 solenoid valve — it switches itself from one coil signal, so no separate remote valve or extra plumbing is needed.
The AirTAC SAIF63X160S-08B is a double-acting ISO 15552 profile cylinder with a built-in 4M310-08 5/2 solenoid valve, delivering a 25.0 mm2 effective area (Cv 1.40). Driven by a DC24V terminal coil drawing 3.0 W with IP65 protection and a 0.05 s response time, it generates 1559 N of push force at 0.5 MPa. The integrated valve operates at 0.15-0.8 MPa, which sets the practical working range for the assembled unit even though the cylinder body rates to 1.0 MPa.
This self-switching unit eliminates the need for a remote valve, saving panel space and tubing for decentralized machine stations. The manifold connects to the cylinder via O10 x O6.5 PU tubing, and the factory setting retracts the rod when the coil is energised, which you can reconfigure to extend-when-energised by repositioning the valve. The -S magnet enables position sensing with CMSE reed or DMSE electronic switches.

The cylinder rates to 1.0 MPa but the built-in valve operates 0.15–0.8 MPa, so run the assembled SAIF at 0.15–0.8 MPa. Default: rod retracts when the coil is energised (reconfigurable to extend). Specs follow the official AirTAC SAIF datasheet. Port options: PT / G.

SAIF does not hold its load without air — the valve routes air, it is not a lock. For load-holding use a SAIL (lock) or BSAI (clamp-lock).
Ideal for large machines with multiple stations, eliminating long tubing runs by switching the 63 mm bore directly at the point of action.
Provides 1559 N of clamping force at 0.5 MPa in tight spaces where mounting a separate 4M310 valve and manifold is impractical.
Simplifies electrical upgrades by allowing a single DC24V terminal connection to control both the valve and cylinder motion.
Choose this 63 mm bore when you need more thrust than the 50 mm class (982 N push at 0.5 MPa) but want to avoid the larger 80 mm envelope (2513 N). The 160 mm stroke is well within the 1500 mm standard limit and does not require auxiliary guides. The built-in 4M310 valve with a 1/4" valve port and PT1/4" cylinder port simplifies installation, while the DC24V terminal coil offers low-power switching. If your process requires holding a load without live air pressure, note that the 5/2 valve routes air but does not lock; consider an SAIL lock cylinder instead. Replacement requires matching bore, stroke, valve port, coil voltage, terminal entry, PT thread, and the -S magnet.
Quick checklist
At 0.5 MPa, the 63 mm bore generates 1559 N push and 1402 N pull force. The built-in 4M310-08 valve has a 25.0 mm2 effective area (Cv 1.40) and a max frequency of 4 cycles per second.
No separate remote valve is needed. By factory default, energising the DC24V coil retracts the rod. You can reconfigure it to extend-when-energised simply by repositioning the valve on the manifold.
