The AirTAC Airtac SAIF Series Standard Cylinder with Valve SAIF63X250-08A is a genuine double-acting ISO 15552 cylinder with a Ø63mm bore, 250mm stroke and a built-in 4M310-08 5/2 solenoid valve — it switches itself from one coil signal, so no separate remote valve or extra plumbing is needed.
The AirTAC SAIF63X250-08A is a double-acting ISO 15552 profile cylinder featuring an integrated 4M310-08 5/2 solenoid valve. This built-in valve delivers a 25.0 mm2 effective area (Cv 1.40) and mounts directly via a manifold block using O10 x O6.5 PU tubing, eliminating the need for a remote valve bank. Driven by an AC220V terminal entry coil drawing 3.5 VA, it activates in 0.05 s and is rated IP65.
While the bare cylinder body rates to 1.0 MPa, the practical operating range for this valved assembly is 0.15-0.8 MPa. It delivers 1559 N of push thrust at 0.5 MPa. By default, the piston rod retracts when the coil is energised, but you can reposition the valve to extend-when-energised. The unit switches itself from one coil signal, saving panel space and tubing across decentralized machine stations.

The cylinder rates to 1.0 MPa but the built-in valve operates 0.15–0.8 MPa, so run the assembled SAIF at 0.15–0.8 MPa. Default: rod retracts when the coil is energised (reconfigurable to extend). Specs follow the official AirTAC SAIF datasheet. Port options: PT / G.

Sized within the valve's 0.15–0.8 MPa range. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical due to friction and back-pressure.

SAIF does not hold its load without air — the valve routes air, it is not a lock. For load-holding use a SAIL (lock) or BSAI (clamp-lock).
Eliminates the need for long air lines back to a main panel by switching locally via the AC220V terminal coil, keeping large machine layouts clean.
Provides 1559 N of push force at 0.5 MPa, making it suitable for diverting or lifting moderate loads on packaging and conveying lines.
The integrated manifold block and O10 x O6.5 PU tubing save valuable mounting space when upgrading older machines without adding external valves.
Choose this 63 mm bore when a 50 mm bore (982 N push at 0.5 MPa) is insufficient, but an 80 mm bore (2513 N push) would be overkill. The self-valved SAIF architecture is ideal for decentralized installations where routing air tubing back to a central manifold is costly or impractical. It operates at 30-800 mm/s. Because the 250 mm stroke exceeds 300 mm? No, but for any stroke over 300 mm you would need a side-load guide; at 250 mm standard guide rules still apply but watch your load dynamics.
This assembly uses a 4M310 valve with a 1/4" valve port and a 3/8" cylinder port. The 5/2 valve routes air but does not lock the load mechanically—use AirTAC SAIL or BSAI cylinders if you need true load holding. For replacements, match the 63 mm bore, 250 mm stroke, 4M310-08 valve, AC220V terminal coil, PT port threads, and standard carbon steel rod. No magnet is installed, so CMSE or DMSE sensors cannot be used without specifying the -S option.
Quick checklist
It generates 1559 N of push force and 1402 N of pull force at 0.5 MPa. The built-in 4M310-08 5/2 valve has a 25.0 mm2 orifice (Cv 1.40) and a maximum frequency of 4 cycles per second.
No separate remote valve is needed. By factory default, energising the AC220V coil retracts the piston rod, but you can reconfigure it to extend-when-energised by repositioning the valve. The 5/2 valve holds its position via internal pilot pressure, not a spring.
