The AirTAC Airtac SAIF Series Standard Cylinder with Valve SAIF80X450S-10B is a genuine double-acting ISO 15552 cylinder with a Ø80mm bore, 450mm stroke and a built-in 4M310-10 5/2 solenoid valve — it switches itself from one coil signal, so no separate remote valve or extra plumbing is needed.
The AirTAC SAIF80X450S-10B is a double-acting ISO 15552 profile cylinder featuring a built-in 4M310-10 5/2 solenoid valve. Driven by a DC24V terminal coil drawing 3.0 W, it delivers 2513N of push force at 0.5 MPa. The integrated valve offers a 30.0 mm2 effective area (Cv 1.68) and switches up to 4 cycles per second. A -S magnet is included for precise position tracking with CMSE reed or DMSE electronic sensors.
Although the bare cylinder body is rated for 1.0 MPa, the operating pressure of the assembled SAIF unit is 0.15-0.8 MPa because the internal pilot valve limits the range. The manifold connects the valve to the cylinder using O10 x O6.5 PU tubing. By default, the factory setting retracts the piston rod when the coil is energised, but you can reposition the valve to extend-when-energised if your sequence requires it.

The cylinder rates to 1.0 MPa but the built-in valve operates 0.15–0.8 MPa, so run the assembled SAIF at 0.15–0.8 MPa. Default: rod retracts when the coil is energised (reconfigurable to extend). Specs follow the official AirTAC SAIF datasheet. Port options: PT / G.

Sized within the valve's 0.15–0.8 MPa range. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical due to friction and back-pressure.

SAIF does not hold its load without air — the valve routes air, it is not a lock. For load-holding use a SAIL (lock) or BSAI (clamp-lock).
Ideal for large assembly lines where running individual valve tubing back to a main panel is costly. The integrated 4M310 valve handles local switching directly at the station.
Provides 2513N of push force at 0.5 MPa. The 450mm stroke accommodates varying workpiece sizes, while the built-in valve ensures rapid actuation.
Perfect for machine upgrades where panel space is full. The self-contained DC24V terminal coil requires only an electrical signal to trigger the 5/2 valve.
Choose this 80mm bore if you need heavy thrust beyond the 63mm class (1559N push at 0.5 MPa) but want to avoid the massive 100mm envelope. The 450mm stroke provides ample travel for clamping or lifting, but at this length you must account for side-load conditions and use external guide rails to prevent rod binding. Because the 4M310 valve is mounted directly on the profile, this decentralized setup eliminates the need to run long air tubes back to a central control panel, saving valuable plumbing space.
When ordering a replacement, confirm the 450mm stroke, 3/8" valve port, DC24V voltage, terminal electrical entry, PT threaded ports, and the -S magnet. Note that the 5/2 valve routes air to move the load but does not lock it mechanically; if you need true load-holding without live pressure, consider the SAIL lock variant. The standard carbon steel rod handles general industrial environments.
Quick checklist
The 80mm bore generates 2513N push and 2268N pull force at 0.5 MPa. The built-in 4M310-10 valve has an effective area of 30.0 mm2 (Cv 1.68) and supports a maximum frequency of 4 cycles per second.
It uses a 5/2 solenoid valve that holds its position via internal pilot pressure, not a spring. The factory setting retracts the rod when the DC24V coil is energised, but you can reposition the valve to extend-when-energised. No separate remote valve is needed.
