The AirTAC SDAJ series is the adjustable-stroke version of the SDA compact cylinder. It features a space-saving riveted body with C-clip retention. An external adjusting screw lets you trim the forward end position on site without changing the cylinder. It is a double-acting cylinder and does not hold position if air pressure is lost.
The range spans 10 bores: 12, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 63, 80 and 100 mm. Port sizes scale with the bore: M5x0.8 for 12-25 mm, PT1/8 for 32-40 mm, PT1/4 for 50-63 mm, and PT3/8 for 80-100 mm. The push force at 0.5 MPa spans from about 56.5 N on the 12 mm bore up to 3927 N on the 100 mm bore.
All SDAJ cylinders use a fixed NBR bumper for end-of-stroke deceleration. This bumper absorbs impact but is not an adjustable air cushion. The body includes standard magnetic-switch grooves for position sensing (order the -S magnet option). Use SDAJ where panel space is tight and you must fine-tune the extend end position. It is a compact thin cylinder, not a tie-rod or ISO cylinder.

How to Choose the Right Model
Choose the bore size based on your load and available air pressure. The 12-25 mm bores provide light force (56.5 N and up at 0.5 MPa) for small assemblies, while the 63-100 mm bores deliver over 1500 N for heavier pushing. Select the SDAJ specifically when you need to dial in the extend stroke on the machine. Confirm these five points before ordering: bore size, required adjustable extend range, port thread, mounting style, and whether you need the -S magnet for sensors.
Step out of the SDAJ series if you need a fixed stroke, a different acting type, or a standard ISO interface. For fixed-stroke compact cylinders, use the AirTAC SDA. For single-acting push or pull, use the SSA or STA series. If your application requires a JIS-dimension compact cylinder, compare with the AirTAC ACQJ. The SDAJ is strictly for compact, non-ISO installations.
