AirTAC Pneumatics
The AirTAC AR series is a compact A-line air pressure regulator in 1/8" and 1/4" ports, holding a steady downstream set pressure up to 0.9 MPa where panel space is tight.
inventory_227 models availableThe AR series is AirTAC's compact A-line air pressure regulator. It takes the incoming line pressure and holds a lower, steady set pressure downstream, so point-of-use equipment sees a constant supply instead of header fluctuations. Two bodies make up the range: AR1500C with PT1/8" ports and AR2000C with PT1/4" ports, with PT, G and NPT threads available. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the standard type adjusts from 0.05 to 0.9 MPa (7-130 psi).
Every AR carries a push-to-lock self-locking adjustment knob: press the knob down after setting and the adjustment cannot be drifted by vibration or an operator leaning on it. The body is light and compact, which is the reason to pick the A-line over the larger G-line regulators when the panel has little room.
Ordering is by code: AR{size}{gauge ports}{type}{bracket}{gauge}{scale}{thread}. Note two quirks that catch buyers out. First, the bracket and gauge codes are inverted: blank means the bracket and gauge ARE included, J means no bracket and N means no gauge. Second, thread and scale unit are linked, not independent: G thread pairs with the bar scale, NPT (T) pairs with psi, and PT pairs with MPa or with kgf/cm2 & psi. A D in the gauge-port position gives a gauge port on both sides of the body instead of one.

A 2000C regulator set downstream of the shop-air drop feeds sealing and clamping cylinders on a carton-sealing line; the push-to-lock knob holds the setting against daily handling.
Where the compressor room supplies up to 1.0 MPa, an AR at each workstation drops the pressure to the 0.05-0.9 MPa window the tooling actually needs.
The L type, capped at 0.4 MPa maximum adjustable, suits roller and web-tension circuits that never run high pressure and benefit from finer low-end adjustment.
A 1500C regulator sized on 1/8" ports holds a steady pilot pressure to air-piloted valves, with the D option putting a gauge port on each side of a crowded manifold panel.
Start with the port size: AR1500C for 1/8" lines, AR2000C for 1/4" lines. Then pick the type: the standard type adjusts up to 0.9 MPa, while the low pressure type (code L) has a maximum adjustable pressure of 0.4 MPa, giving finer control on machines that only ever run low pressure. Choose the D option when the panel layout or reading position needs a gauge port on both sides. Leave the bracket and gauge fields blank to receive them; add J or N only to leave them out. Confirm your five points before ordering: port size, standard or L type, gauge ports one or both sides, bracket and gauge in or out (remember J and N are subtractive), and thread plus matching scale unit.
Step outside the series when the job outgrows it. For 3/8" or 1/2" lines the equivalent bodies are in the BR series, the B-side of the same A/B line. If the point of use also needs filtration, AR regulates only - specify the AFR/BFR filter-regulator or the G-line GFR instead. For larger G-line regulators, see the GR and GAR series.
Quick checklist
Two bodies: AR1500C with PT1/8" ports and AR2000C with PT1/4" ports, in PT, G or NPT thread. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the standard type controls 0.05-0.9 MPa (7-130 psi). Operating temperature is -20 to +70 C and the medium is air. For 3/8" and 1/2" ports the equivalent series is BR.
The L type has a maximum adjustable pressure of 0.4 MPa instead of 0.9 MPa. It is a ceiling on the adjustment, not a separate band, and gives finer control on circuits that only ever run low pressure, such as roller clamping or pilot lines. Both types share the same compact bodies and the same push-to-lock knob.
J and N are subtractive: a letter means the item is left out. Blank = bracket and gauge included, J = no bracket, N = no gauge. This is the opposite of most option codes, so check the suffix before submitting. For example, AR2000C includes both; AR2000CJ drops the bracket; AR2000CJN drops both.
Thread and scale unit are linked: G thread pairs with the bar scale (3), NPT (T) with psi (2), and PT with MPa (1) or kgf/cm2 & psi (4), so choose the thread and the scale follows.
