About the AirTAC 4V420-15 Solenoid Valve, 4V400 Series (4V42015H-AM)
4V420-15H-AM is the 1/2in PT version of AirTAC's 4V400 double-solenoid body - a 5/2 spool valve that sends compressed air to one side of a double-acting cylinder while exhausting the other. As a function 20 valve, a short pulse on either solenoid latches the spool in that position; the hold comes from balanced pressure and land friction, not from a magnet or a spring, and no current is needed to keep a slide or gate where you left it. Flow is the widest in the 4V range: 48.0 mm2 effective area, Cv 2.82, switching in 0.05 s or less.
The H-coded coil in this SKU is a non-standard voltage variant - confirm your control supply (AC or DC, and the voltage) before ordering so the correct coil ships. Size the valve so effective area / Cv is not the bottleneck for your cylinder bore and speed. Undersized valves slow the actuator. Note 5/3 (center) versions have a smaller effective area than the 5/2 of the same body size.
