This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE20X10B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE20X10B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP20X10B is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø20mm bore and 10mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE20X10B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP20X10B is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 20 mm bore and a short 10 mm stroke, built on a hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome piston rod and a fixed TPU bumper at each end. The B code gives a male rod thread, and the air port is M5x0.8. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 157.1 N and pulls 117.8 N, rising to 219.9 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures and small guarding where a full-length body will not fit. In practice, plan for roughly 94 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 8 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin - enough for small clamps, chutes and light lift-and-locate tasks. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACE20X10, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE20X10B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 157 N | 118 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 220 N | 165 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 32 kgf | |
The ACE20X10B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 20 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×10 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa seats bearings, bushings and terminals into plastic housings on electronics assembly benches, with the 10 mm stroke suiting shallow press depths.
The short body, roughly half the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, clamps machined aluminium brackets inside crowded drill jigs where space is scarce.
With about 8 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, the cylinder deflects small cartons and blister packs between conveyor lanes on food and pharma packing machines.
At 20 mm bore this sits in the light-duty band: the 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa, while the 25 mm bore steps up to 245.4 N, so pick the neighbour bore if your load sits near the limit. The 10 mm stroke is well inside the 100 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore. This unit has no magnet fitted - order the -S code if you need CMSE or DMSE switch position sensing. A plain cylinder drifts when air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check valve for a held load. For new designs, specify the ACE20X10 instead, as the ACP line is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it delivers 157.1 N push and 117.8 N pull; at 0.7 MPa, 219.9 N push and 164.9 N pull. The theoretical maximum is 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting, runs on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, with an M5x0.8 port and a 10 mm male rod thread.
Sensing requires the optional -S magnet code; this version has no magnet, so no CMSE or DMSE switch can be mounted as is. The ACP family is discontinued - the current drop-in is the ACE20X10, matching the same 20 mm bore, 10 mm stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before converting your fixture.
