This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE20X25LB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE20X25LB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP20X25LB is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø20mm bore and 25mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE20X25LB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder in the DIN-standard ACP series, the ACP20X25LB pairs a 20 mm bore with a 25 mm stroke and LB foot mounting. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 157.1 N and pulls 117.8 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 219.9 N and 164.9 N, with a theoretical maximum of 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures a full-length body cannot reach.
In practice, plan on roughly 94 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting about 4.8 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin - enough for small clamps, gates and part-pushers. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s over 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACE20X25, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE20X25LB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 157 N | 118 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 220 N | 165 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 32 kgf | |
The ACE20X25LB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 20 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×25 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa clears lightweight molded caps and bushings off the ejector side of an injection tool within the short 25 mm stroke.
Foot-mounted beside the belt, the cylinder kicks underfilled 50 ml bottles into a reject chute, running 30-500 mm/s to match line speed.
The compact body fits inside a benchtop diagnostics enclosure, clamping cuvette trays with about 94 N of working force at 0.5 MPa.
At 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa, this 20 mm bore suits light clamping and sorting tasks; step down to a 16 mm bore (100.5 N) for smaller loads or up to 25 mm (245.4 N) when the part is heavier. The 25 mm stroke sits well inside the 100 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so no made-to-order length is needed. LB foot mounting bolts the body flat to a machine plate; add the optional -S magnet code if CMSE or DMSE switches are wanted later. Since the ACP is discontinued, order the ACE20X25 as the current replacement and verify the ISO 21287 hole pattern first.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 157.1 N and pulls 117.8 N; at 0.7 MPa, 219.9 N push and 164.9 N pull; theoretical maximum 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 20 mm bore, 25 mm stroke, 10 mm rod, M6x1.0 female rod thread, M5x0.8 ports, 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) operating pressure, 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, -20 to +70 C, and 30-500 mm/s speed. Fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends.
Order the ACE20X25, the ISO 21287 successor made by swapping the P for an E. It matches the same bore, stroke and force class and keeps the short-body format, but because the ACP was DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions and the LB foot hole pattern against your fixture before swapping. If you need position sensing, the ACE takes the same optional-magnet approach with CMSE / DMSE switches.
