This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X120SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X120SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X120SB is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 120mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X120SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP25X120SB is a double acting compact cylinder in the DIN-standard ACP series, with a 25 mm bore and a 120 mm stroke driving a 10 mm hard-chrome rod through a male thread. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 343.6 N and 288.6 N, with a theoretical ceiling of 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. In practice, plan on roughly 147 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which is about 15 kg of real work force once you leave margin for friction and pressure drop.
The short ISO 21287-class body cuts mounting length by roughly 50% versus an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so this 120 mm stroke fits shallow jigs and sliding guards where a full-length body will not. The -S magnet is fitted on this version, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches mount directly on the hard-anodized aluminium body. Note the fixed TPU bumpers only soften end-of-stroke travel; they do not hold a load if air is lost. This model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ACE25X120, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X120SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X120SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×120 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps aluminium brackets and small castings in machining fixtures, and the short body fits inside the pallet envelope.
A 120 mm stroke sweeps product gates on filling lines, with the fitted -S magnet driving CMSE switches for gate-open and gate-closed confirmation.
The 25 mm bore lifts loaded trays of about 12 kg vertically with margin, while the compact body slots under conveyor frames.
Size the 25 mm bore between neighbours: a 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa, while a 32 mm bore reaches 402.1 N, so pick down or up depending on whether 245.4 N at 0.5 MPa covers your load. For vertical lifting, the raw 25 kgf equivalent should be halved to about 12 kg for a 2:1 margin. The male rod thread (B code) suits I/Y knuckles, and FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis mountings bolt to the same face. Because a plain cylinder drifts when the valve centres, add a rod lock or pilot check valve for held loads. Order ACE25X120 as the current replacement and verify the ISO 21287 footprint.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa the 25 mm bore pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 343.6 N and pulls 288.6 N, with a theoretical maximum of 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed range 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, and the air supply must be filtered to 40 um. The port is M5x0.8 and the rod end carries a male thread.
No - the ACP25X120SB is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is ACE25X120, the ISO 21287 successor in the same bore, stroke and force class. The short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, and FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mountings carry over, but confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before ordering the swap.
