This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X5 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X5 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X5 is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 5mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X5 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP25X5 is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 25 mm bore and a very short 5 mm stroke, driving a 10 mm rod through a female M6x1.0 rod thread and fed by an M5x0.8 port. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N, rising to 343.6 N push and 288.6 N pull at 0.7 MPa. Its hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod runs on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) air at 30-500 mm/s, with a fixed TPU bumper at each end.
Because the short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, this unit slots into tight clamping fixtures where a full-length cylinder cannot. For sizing, plan on roughly 147 N (about 15 kg) of real work at 0.5 MPa, or expect it to lift about 12 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACE25X5, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X5 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X5 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×5 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 5 mm stroke is ideal for a short clamp kick on a milling vise or jig button, where 245.4 N at 0.5 MPa holds a small aluminium part firmly without over-squeezing.
A 5 mm push is enough to kick a finished blister or tray off a forming station on a small packaging line, and the compact body fits inside the guard.
Use the short stroke to raise and lower a stop pin that indexes parts on a rotary assembly table, cycling at 30-500 mm/s between stations.
At 245.4 N push (0.5 MPa), the 25 mm bore sits between the 20 mm bore (157.1 N) and the 32 mm bore (402.1 N); pick 20 mm for lighter clamps or 32 mm when you need roughly 1.6x the force. The 5 mm stroke is well inside the 150 mm standard range for this bore. This unit has no magnet, so position switches cannot be fitted - order the -S code (ACP25X5S) if you need CMSE or DMSE sensors. FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mountings bolt to the same face. Since ACP is discontinued, specify the ACE25X5 as the current replacement and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa, 343.6 N push and 288.6 N pull; theoretical maximum is 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 25 mm bore, 5 mm stroke, 10 mm rod, M5x0.8 port, female M6x1.0 rod thread, 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) operating range, -20 to +70 C, and 30-500 mm/s speed.
Order the ACE25X5, the current ISO 21287 production model that swaps the P for an E and matches the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before the swap, since the ACP was built to a DIN standard. The ACE also accepts FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mountings, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE or DMSE switches.
