This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE32X100SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE32X100SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

About the Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP32X100SB

The ACP32X100SB is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 32 mm bore and 100 mm stroke, delivering 402.1 N push and 345.6 N pull at 0.5 MPa (563 N and 483.8 N at 0.7 MPa). Its hard-anodized aluminium body and S45C hard-chrome rod run at 30-500 mm/s on air filtered to 40 um, with a fixed TPU bumper at each end. The S code means the optional magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted directly on the body, and the B code gives a male rod thread instead of a female one.

Because the short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, this model slides into tight jigs, guards and gantries where a full-length cylinder will not fit. For sizing, treat about 241 N (0.6 of the push force) as the usable working force at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting roughly 12 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note that this ACP model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACE32X100, same bore, stroke and force class, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE32X100SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Where the Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP32X100SB Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Clamping fixture on a CNC machining line

With 402.1 N push at 0.5 MPa and a male rod thread for direct knuckle mounting, the 32 mm bore clamps aluminium brackets in drilling and milling jigs, and the 100 mm stroke clears part loading.

conveyor_belt

Push-off station on packaging conveyors

The short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it ejects cartons sideways between tight conveyor frames, with CMSE switches confirming rod position via the fitted -S magnet.

vertical_align_bottom

Vertical lift in a small assembly gantry

Planning around 241 N of usable force at 0.5 MPa, the cylinder lifts parts of roughly 12 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin inside compact gantry heads where space is limited.

Replacing the Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP32X100SB with the ACE32X100SB

At 32 mm bore this sits in the mid compact range: step down to 25 mm for 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa, or up to 40 mm for 628.3 N when the load needs more margin. The 100 mm stroke is within the 200 mm standard limit for this bore, so no made-to-order stroke is needed. Choose the male rod thread (B) when your knuckle or fixture bolts onto a male stud, and add the -S magnet code if position sensing with CMSE / DMSE switches is planned. Remember the piston drifts when air is lost - for a held load, pair the cylinder with a rod lock or pilot check valve. Order the ACE32X100 as the current replacement and verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.

Replacement checklist

Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP32X100SB FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes 402.1 N and pulls 345.6 N; at 0.7 MPa push is 563 N and pull 483.8 N; theoretical maximum is 82 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is a double acting compact cylinder, 32 mm bore, 100 mm stroke, 12 mm rod with male thread, 1/8" port, operating on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, -20 to +70 C, speed 30-500 mm/s, fixed TPU bumpers at both ends. This model is discontinued - the ACE32X100 is the current replacement.

Yes, because the S code means the optional -S magnet is fitted on this model, so CMSE reed or DMSE solid-state switches clamp onto the aluminium body for end-of-stroke or mid-stroke signals. Mounting uses the ISO 21287 face family: FA/FB flanges, LB feet, CA/CB clevises plus CR, SDB and FTC brackets and I/Y rod knuckles. Since the ACP is DIN-standard and discontinued, confirm the ISO 21287 dimensions of the ACE32X100 before ordering the swap.
