This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE32X225B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE32X225B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP32X225B is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø32mm bore and 225mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE32X225B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP32X225B is a double acting compact cylinder in the DIN-standard ACP series, built with a hard-anodized aluminium body, an S45C hard-chrome plated 12 mm rod and a fixed TPU bumper at each end. With a 32 mm bore it delivers 402.1 N push and 345.6 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 563 N push at 0.7 MPa. The 225 mm stroke is longer than the 200 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Air supply runs 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with speeds of 30-500 mm/s.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which matters in a 225 mm stroke application where every millimetre of envelope counts. As a buyer rule of thumb, plan on about 241 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the rated push), enough to lift about 20 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production successor is the ACE32X225, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. The B code gives a male rod thread; the optional -S magnet code enables CMSE / DMSE switches, and without it no magnet is fitted.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE32X225B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 402 N | 346 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 563 N | 484 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 82 kgf | |
The ACE32X225B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 32 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×225 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 402.1 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps aluminium extrusion or sheet-metal brackets in welding jigs, and the 225 mm stroke clears the operator's hands during loading.
With about 20 kg of safe vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, the cylinder lowers cast housings onto a machining fixture; add a pilot check valve because the piston drifts when air is removed.
At a packaging line transfer point, the long 225 mm stroke pushes cartons sideways off a belt, with the compact body fitting inside the conveyor side frame.
Size against neighbours: the 25 mm bore pushes 245.4 N at 0.5 MPa and suits lighter clamping, while the 40 mm bore reaches 628.3 N if your load grows. Because a plain cylinder drifts when air is lost, add a rod lock or pilot check valve if the 225 mm stroke must hold a position. Match FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis mounting to your fixture, and order the -S code only if you need CMSE / DMSE sensing. For new designs, specify the ACE32X225 instead, since this ACP model is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 402.1 N and pulls 345.6 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 563 N and pulls 483.8 N. The theoretical maximum is 82 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 12 mm male-thread rod, a 1/8" port, and a fixed TPU bumper at both ends. The 225 mm stroke exceeds the 200 mm standard maximum for a 32 mm bore, so it is made to order.
No, the ACP32X225B is discontinued. The current-production replacement is the ACE32X225 (swap the P for an E), an ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before ordering, and remember the -S magnet code is what enables CMSE / DMSE switches.
