This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE32X90B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE32X90B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP32X90B is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø32mm bore and 90mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE32X90B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder in the DIN-standard ACP series, the ACP32X90B pairs a 32 mm bore with a 90 mm stroke and a male rod thread (the B code). At 0.5 MPa it pushes 402.1 N and pulls 345.6 N, rising to 563 N and 483.8 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 82 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.
The hard-anodized aluminium body carries aluminium covers threaded on, an S45C hard-chrome rod, a fixed TPU bumper at each end and 1/8" ports, running at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and 30-500 mm/s. Plan on about 240 N (roughly 24 kg) of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 12 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ACE32X90, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE32X90B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 402 N | 346 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 563 N | 484 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 82 kgf | |
The ACE32X90B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 32 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×90 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 402.1 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps aluminium brackets and small castings in machining fixtures, and the short body fits between pallet rails where a profile cylinder cannot.
With a 90 mm stroke and 30-500 mm/s speed, the cylinder kicks formed cartons off a conveyor lane; the fixed TPU bumper softens the end-of-stroke contact.
A 12 kg vertical-lift equivalent lets the rod raise light stopper gates between conveyor frames, with the male rod thread taking a clevis or knuckle directly.
At 402.1 N push at 0.5 MPa, this 32 mm bore suits clamping and pressing loads up to roughly 240 N of real work; step down to a 25 mm bore (245.4 N) for lighter fixtures or up to 40 mm (628.3 N) when the job needs more margin. The 90 mm stroke sits well inside the 200 mm standard limit for this bore, so no made-to-order build is needed. The B code gives a male rod thread for direct attachment to Y-type knuckles; FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis brackets bolt to the same face. A plain unit does not hold load when air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check valve for held positions. Since ACP is discontinued, order ACE32X90 as the current equivalent and verify the ISO 21287 footprint first.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it delivers 402.1 N push and 345.6 N pull; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 563 N push and 483.8 N pull, with a theoretical maximum of 82 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Keep real working loads near 240 N (about 12 kg vertical lift with a 2:1 margin). Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, with 1/8" ports and a 12 mm male-threaded rod.
Only if the optional -S magnet is ordered: the ACP32X90B code has no S, so no magnet is fitted and no switch will trigger. Specify the -S version to enable CMSE or DMSE reed or solid-state switches along the body. Also note the model is discontinued; its current-production replacement ACE32X90 offers the same bore, stroke and force class, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before converting your fixture.
