This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE40X75 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE40X75 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP40X75 is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø40mm bore and 75mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE40X75 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting compact cylinder built to the DIN-standard short-body format: a 40 mm bore pushing 628.3 N (pull 571.8 N) at 0.5 MPa, with a fixed TPU bumper at each end. The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome 12 mm rod runs on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) at 30-500 mm/s. Note that ACP40X75 is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is ACE40X75 in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287 body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into cramped welding jigs and packaging guards. At 0.5 MPa plan on roughly 377 N of usable push, which lifts about 32 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin - enough for a loaded 25 kg tray plus fixture weight. FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis brackets bolt to the standard face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches; without -S there is no magnet.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE40X75 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 628 N | 572 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 880 N | 800 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 128 kgf | |
The ACE40X75 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 40 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 628.3 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps steel brackets in automotive fixture nests, and the short body fits between closely spaced tooling plates.
A 75 mm stroke sweeps filled cartons off a conveyor lane; the fixed TPU bumper decelerates the stroke ends at cycle rates up to 500 mm/s.
With about 32 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, the cylinder lowers stacked product trays onto a checkweigher belt.
Size the 40 mm bore when your load needs 400-600 N of push: at 0.5 MPa it delivers 628.3 N, while a 32 mm bore gives only 402.1 N and a 50 mm bore reaches 981.7 N. If the load must stay held with air off, add a rod lock or pilot check valve - the bumper does not hold position. Choose the -S code if you need CMSE / DMSE position switches, and pick FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis to match your fixture. Since ACP is discontinued, order ACE40X75 and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before the swap.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 628.3 N and pulls 571.8 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 879.6 N push and 800.5 N pull. The theoretical maximum at 1.0 MPa is 128.1 kgf. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, and speed range is 30-500 mm/s.
The short DIN-standard body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, with a hard-anodized aluminium body, a 12 mm hard-chrome rod, a 1/8" port and an M8x1.25 female rod thread. The model is discontinued; the current drop-in is ACE40X75 - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
