This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED63X10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED63X10 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD63X10 is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø63mm bore and 10mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED63X10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD63X10 delivers 1458.1 N in each direction at 0.5 MPa because both strokes work on the rod-side area. The 63 mm bore turns 0.7 MPa into 2041.3 N either way, with a peak of 297.4 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Its hard-anodized aluminium body is an ISO 21287 short build that saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures a full-length body cannot reach.
The through-rod resists rotation and side load and gives a symmetric mount, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag. Fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends, speed runs 30-500 mm/s, and the rod is S45C hard-chrome on a 16 mm diameter with an M10x1.5 female thread. Plan on roughly 875 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which is about 89 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. This model is discontinued: the current drop-in is ACED63X10, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED63X10 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 1458 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 2041 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 297 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 63 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×10 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 10 mm stroke and 1458.1 N both ways at 0.5 MPa suit short-travel staking of connectors and bearings on PCB or small-motor lines, where the short body fits inside the press head.
A rod on each cover lets one cylinder clamp from both sides of an aluminium gearbox housing on a CNC fixture, with equal force and no rotation thanks to the through-rod.
The rear rod carries a flag for CMSE or DMSE switches when the optional -S magnet is ordered, giving end-of-stroke confirmation on a pick-and-place gantry with only 10 mm of travel.
At 1458.1 N per side at 0.5 MPa, this 63 mm unit suits clamping and press-fit work; step down to the 50 mm bore (881.2 N) for lighter loads or up to 80 mm (2356.2 N) for heavier ones. The 10 mm stroke is well inside the 250 mm standard for this bore. Remember the piston drifts when air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check if the load must stay put. FA/FB flange or LB foot mounting bolts to the ISO 21287 face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches; without -S no magnet is fitted. Order ACED63X10 as the current-production replacement.
Replacement checklist
Yes. Because a rod exits both covers, both strokes use the rod-side area: 1458.1 N at 0.5 MPa and 2041.3 N at 0.7 MPa, equal in each direction, peaking at 297.4 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, air filtered to 40 um, speed 30-500 mm/s and temperature -20 to +70 C.
The ACPD family is out of production; the current drop-in is ACED63X10, the ISO 21287 successor in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard. Mounting uses FA/FB flange or LB foot on the standard face, the port is 1/8" (PT thread), and the rod end is M10x1.5 female.
