This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ20X110-10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ20X110-10 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ20X110-10 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø20mm bore and 110mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ20X110-10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable stroke, the discontinued ACPJ20X110-10 delivers 157.1 N push and 117.8 N pull at 0.5 MPa (219.9 N / 164.9 N at 0.7 MPa) from a 20 mm bore. Its 110 mm stroke is above the 100 mm standard limit for this bore, so it is a made-to-order length. A stop screw trims the extend stroke by up to 10 mm on site, giving a usable range of 100-110 mm, and fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends.
The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and gantries. At 0.5 MPa the push force equates to roughly 16 kgf, so plan on lifting about 8 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ20X110 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ20X110-10 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 157 N | 118 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 220 N | 165 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 32 kgf | |
The ACEJ20X110-10 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 20 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -10 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps aluminium housings on machining jigs, with the 10 mm adjustment window dialing the clamp point in without shims.
A 110 mm stroke ejects off-spec cartons from a conveyor lane at 30-500 mm/s, trimmed to 100-110 mm by the stop screw to match lane width.
Lifts about 8 kg vertically at 0.5 MPa with a 2:1 margin, lowering light brackets onto press pins in electronics assembly cells.
Size both ways: the 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa if your load is lighter, while the next step up in the ACE family covers heavier thrust needs. The 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa suits clamping and positioning of parts up to roughly 8 kg in vertical lift with margin. The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it does not lock the piston mid-stroke, so on air loss the rod still drifts. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the ISO 21287 face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches; this model has no magnet fitted. Order the ACEJ20X110 as the current replacement.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 157.1 N and pulls 117.8 N; at 0.7 MPa push is 219.9 N and pull 164.9 N; theoretical maximum is 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -10 code is a 10 mm window: a stop screw shortens the 110 mm extend stroke by up to 10 mm, so the working range is 100-110 mm. It is double acting, runs 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), and the 110 mm stroke is a made-to-order length above the 100 mm standard for a 20 mm bore.
Yes, the ACPJ family is out of production. Order the ACEJ20X110, the current ISO 21287 drop-in with the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the mounting dimensions before swapping since the ACP is DIN-standard. For position sensing, the magnet is the optional -S code: this model (no S) has no magnet, so no CMSE / DMSE switch can be mounted. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings carry over on the replacement.
