The AirTAC AirTAC GF400-10 Filter (GF40010MJW) is a genuine G-series air filter. It separates condensed water and filters particulate from the compressed-air line through a 5 µm element, with PT3/8" ports and a manual drain. A filter does not set downstream pressure — pair it with a GR regulator, or use a GFR filter regulator, when pressure control is needed.
The AirTAC GF40010MJW is a GF-series air filter in the 400 size with a 3/8" PT port. Filtration only: it removes water and particulate from compressed air - no regulation, no lubrication. The W suffix specifies the finer 5 um filter element instead of the standard 40 um, for lines where precision valves, cylinders or instruments need cleaner air. Drainage is manual, no mounting bracket is supplied (J), and the 400-size bowl is polycarbonate.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GF family runs sizes 200/300/400/600 with ports 1/8" to 1", and offers G (BSPP) or NPT threads, automatic or manual drains, and bracket options. Flow for the series is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so contact us and we will confirm the datasheet figures for your application on request.
| Model | AirTAC GF400-10 Filter (GF40010MJW) |
|---|---|
| Series | GF400 air filter |
| Port size | PT3/8" (PT thread) |
| Filtering grade | 5 µm |
| Drain type | Manual drain |
| Bracket | Supplied without bracket |
| Fluid | Compressed air |
|---|---|
| Inlet pressure | 0 - 0.9 MPa (0 - 131 psi) |
| Max. working pressure | 1.0 MPa (145 psi) |
| Temperature range | -5 to +70 °C (unfreeze) |
| Bowl material | PC |
| Feature | Low pressure loss |
Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The inlet-pressure band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains run 0.15 - 1.0 MPa, a manual drain runs 0 - 0.9 MPa. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GF400 | G-series air filter, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 10 | Port size PT3/8". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain. Options are differential (blank), automatic (A) or manual (M). |
| J | Supplied without bracket. A bracket ships by default; J orders it without. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
Field order is size, port, drain, bracket, grade, thread — a blank position takes the default. Example: GF300-10AJW is a 300 body, PT3/8", automatic drain, no bracket, 5 µm element, PT thread.
A larger body carries a larger port and passes more air at the same pressure drop. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure. The GF600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.
| This model | GF400 · PT3/8" · 5 µm |
|---|---|
| One size down | GF300 |
| One size up | GF600 |
| Line order | Filter first, then regulator, then lubricator |
Installed on the compressed-air line serving lab analysers and pneumatic sample handlers, the 5 um element keeps fine particulate out of instrument air ports and pilot circuits.
Mounted on the branch feeding positioner and pilot-air ports on a process-control valve skid, it screens condensate and fine debris that would foul small pilot orifices.
Fitted before the clamping and tool-change circuits on a CNC machining centre, the fine element helps keep the small-bore clamping valves free of contamination between services.
Choose this code when you need three things at once: 400-size flow with a 3/8" PT port, the 5 um W element, and a bracket-less body for direct in-line plumbing. If your dirt load is coarse and general, the 40 um standard element costs less to run; reserve 5 um for cleaner duties or as the last filter before sensitive components. Manual drain means the bowl is bled by hand on a schedule. PT is the standard thread; G (BSPP) and NPT are catalogue options to order.
Sizing: flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents or exposed to synthetic oils that attack polycarbonate — wipe it with a dry cloth. A filter removes water and particulate only; it does not regulate pressure or add lubrication.
There is no single rated flow to quote: AirTAC publishes GF-series performance as flow curves. Share your line demand and we will confirm the datasheet figures on request, so you can verify the 400 frame and 3/8" port against your application before ordering.
The 40 um standard element suits general plant air with typical dirt loads; the W option's 5 um element is for duties feeding finer components such as pilot valves, instruments or precision cylinders. If you are unsure which grade your downstream equipment needs, tell us the application and we will help you choose.
