The AirTAC AirTAC GF400-15 Filter (GF40015AJ) is a genuine G-series air filter. It separates condensed water and filters particulate from the compressed-air line through a 40 µm element, with PT1/2" ports and a automatic drain. A filter does not set downstream pressure — pair it with a GR regulator, or use a GFR filter regulator, when pressure control is needed.
The GF40015AJ is an AirTAC G-series air filter for water and particulate removal only - there is no regulator and no lubricator in this family. It is the 400-size body with a PT 1/2 in port, the standard 40 um element and an automatic drain (A) that clears condensate from the bowl unattended. The J suffix means no mounting bracket is supplied, so the unit suits installations where it is panel-mounted by your own arrangement or inline where a bracket is not wanted. The bowl is polycarbonate at 400 size.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GF family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600, with differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, 40 um or 5 um elements, and PT, G or NPT threads as catalogue options. We provide datasheet and flow-curve confirmation on request, since flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure.
| Model | AirTAC GF400-15 Filter (GF40015AJ) |
|---|---|
| Series | GF400 air filter |
| Port size | PT1/2" (PT thread) |
| Filtering grade | 40 µm |
| Drain type | Automatic drain |
| Bracket | Supplied without bracket |
| Fluid | Compressed air |
|---|---|
| Inlet pressure | 0.15 - 1.0 MPa (22 - 145 psi) |
| Max. working pressure | 1.0 MPa (145 psi) |
| Temperature range | -5 to +70 °C (unfreeze) |
| Bowl material | PC |
| Feature | Low pressure loss |
Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The inlet-pressure band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains run 0.15 - 1.0 MPa, a manual drain runs 0 - 0.9 MPa. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GF400 | G-series air filter, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| A | Drain: Automatic drain. Options are differential (blank), automatic (A) or manual (M). |
| J | Supplied without bracket. A bracket ships by default; J orders it without. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
Field order is size, port, drain, bracket, grade, thread — a blank position takes the default. Example: GF300-10AJW is a 300 body, PT3/8", automatic drain, no bracket, 5 µm element, PT thread.
A larger body carries a larger port and passes more air at the same pressure drop. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure. The GF600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Decode summary: 400 size, PT 1/2 in port, automatic drain, 40 um element, bracket omitted (J). Choose this over the bracketed GF40015A when your mounting method does not need the included bracket. Step to the 600 size at a larger port if the 400 frame is too small for the line; size 200 or 300 serves lighter circuits. For finer air, the W version of this exact configuration carries the 5 um element; manual and differential-pressure drains are also orderable at this size. Thread is PT as standard with G and NPT as order options.
Rated flow is not published as a single number for this family - it appears as curves - so ask us to confirm sizing and share the datasheet before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents or exposed to synthetic oils that attack polycarbonate — wipe it with a dry cloth. A filter removes water and particulate only; it does not regulate pressure or add lubrication.
We do not quote a single rated-flow figure because AirTAC publishes flow for the GF400 series as performance curves. Give us your line flow and pressure and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request.
J means no mounting bracket is included; the blank position would supply one. It is a pure mounting choice - the filtration function, PT 1/2 in port, automatic drain and 40 um element are identical to the bracketed GF40015A.
