The AirTAC AirTAC GF400-15 Filter (GF40015MW) is a genuine G-series air filter. It separates condensed water and filters particulate from the compressed-air line through a 5 µm element, with PT1/2" ports and a manual drain. A filter does not set downstream pressure — pair it with a GR regulator, or use a GFR filter regulator, when pressure control is needed.
The AirTAC GF40015MW is a G-series air filter for compressed air only: it removes water and particulate, with no pressure regulation and no lubrication. This 400-size unit carries a 1/2 in PT port and the W option, a 5 um element, for finer filtration than the standard 40 um grade - suited to protecting sensitive downstream valves, cylinders and instruments. Condensate collected in the PC bowl is released through the manual drain, best where an operator can bleed it on a routine. With a manual drain, the maximum working pressure is 0.9 MPa (130 psi), and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C.
This is a genuine AirTAC part from the G series, available in sizes 200 to 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, with drain types, filter grades, thread options and bracket choices across the range. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so we will confirm the datasheet figures on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The inlet-pressure band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains run 0.15 - 1.0 MPa, a manual drain runs 0 - 0.9 MPa. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GF400 | G-series air filter, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| 15 | Port size PT1/2". This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| M | Drain: Manual drain. Options are differential (blank), automatic (A) or manual (M). |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. A bracket ships by default; J orders it without. |
| W | Filtering grade 5 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
Field order is size, port, drain, bracket, grade, thread — a blank position takes the default. Example: GF300-10AJW is a 300 body, PT3/8", automatic drain, no bracket, 5 µm element, PT thread.
A larger body carries a larger port and passes more air at the same pressure drop. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure. The GF600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Finer 5 um point-of-use filtration for the clamping and tooling air on a robotic welding cell, with the bracket-mounted filter placed for easy manual draining.
Protecting the register controls and clutch valves on a printing press with 5 um filtration on the 1/2 in main supply, bracketed beside the machine frame.
Conditioning the air feeding divert-gate actuators on a parcel conveyor, keeping moisture and fine debris out of the directional valves on a busy sortation line.
This configuration combines a 400-size body, a 1/2 in PT port, a 5 um W element and a bracket included - a good default when you want finer filtration and a ready panel or wall fixing. If coarse protection suffices, drop the W for the 40 um standard; if the bowl is hard to reach, consider the automatic-drain variant instead of manual. Smaller demands may suit the 200/300 sizes with 1/8 to 3/8 in ports, larger supplies the 600. Thread is PT as standard, with G (BSPP) and NPT as orderable options. Flow is only available as catalogue curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm datasheet sizing against your application before ordering.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents or exposed to synthetic oils that attack polycarbonate — wipe it with a dry cloth. A filter removes water and particulate only; it does not regulate pressure or add lubrication.
No single rated flow number is published: AirTAC states filter capacity as flow curves. We do not quote l/min or SCFM values. Send us your pressure and demand details and we will confirm the datasheet flow-curve data for this exact model on request before you order.
Only the filter grade: the W version carries a 5 um element for finer particle removal, while the blank variant uses the standard 40 um element. Both are 400-size filters with a 1/2 in PT port, manual drain, bracket included and a PC bowl, rated to 0.9 MPa (130 psi) with the manual drain.
