About the Airtac SAI100 Standard Air Cylinder SAI100X150S

The AirTAC SAI100X150-S is a double-acting ISO 15552 profile cylinder engineered for heavy-duty automation. Delivering a robust 5497 N of push force at 0.7 MPa, this 100mm bore unit is built to drive demanding loads. The 150mm stroke provides ample extension for pressing, lifting, and clamping tasks. As a genuine AirTAC component, it guarantees dimensional interchangeability with other ISO 15552 cylinders.

This specific configuration includes a magnet for position sensing (-S), allowing seamless integration with CMSE or DMSE reed switches mounted directly into the dual sensor grooves on the extruded aluminum barrel. It features a standard carbon steel piston rod and PT tapered port threads. For high-temperature environments up to 70 C, the standard TPU seals can be swapped for Viton (H) variants.

Is the Airtac SAI100 Standard Air Cylinder SAI100X150S the Right Cylinder?

Select this 100mm bore when 80mm cylinders lack sufficient thrust; stepping up from an 80mm bore increases your 0.5 MPa push force from 2513 N to 3927 N. If you need less force, dropping to an 80mm bore saves space and air consumption. This model uses a G1/2 port and an M20x1.5 rod thread.

Because this is a standard double-acting cylinder, it does not hold its position if air pressure is lost. The adjustable air cushions at both ends only serve to decelerate the piston near the end of stroke. If your application requires a fail-safe load hold, consider the SAIL variant with an air-released lock or the BSAI bidirectional clamp-lock cylinder.

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Use clean air filtered to 40µm or finer.
  • check Keep within 0.15 – 1.0 MPa operating pressure.
  • check Avoid side load on the piston rod.
  • check Adjust end cushion screws for smooth stops.
  • check Use correct mounting accessory (FA/FB/CA/CB/LB/TC).
  • check Installation by qualified personnel per AirTAC docs.

Airtac SAI100 Standard Air Cylinder SAI100X150S FAQ

At a standard operating pressure of 0.7 MPa, this 100mm bore cylinder generates 5497 N of push force and 3681 N of pull force. At 0.5 MPa, it provides 3927 N push and 3681 N pull.

Yes. The SAI100X150-S is dimensionally interchangeable per ISO 15552. You can drop it in as a replacement for other ISO 15552 profile cylinders with a 100mm bore and 150mm stroke, provided your mounting accessories and port sizes align.
