The AirTAC ACQ series is a standard JIS compact (thin) air cylinder featuring a single rod and double-acting operation. It uses a C-clip and riveted piston-to-rod connection to minimize overall length, saving axial mounting depth versus round-body cylinders. The range covers 13 bores from 12 to 160mm, with push force spanning 57N at 0.5 MPa on the smallest bore up to 10053N on the largest.
Shared design features include a hard-anodized aluminum bore, two-way piston seal, and magnetic-switch grooves around the body. Instead of adjustable air cushions, it uses fixed elastomer bumpers (TPU on 12-25mm bores, NBR on larger) to decelerate the piston at stroke ends. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa, proof pressure is 1.5 MPa, and temperature range is -20 to +70 C. Port threads scale from M5x0.8 up to PT3/8.
The series includes standard strokes up to 100mm, long-stroke options up to 300mm for 32-100mm bores, and big-bore ranges up to 300mm. Variants include ASQ (push), ATQ (pull), ACQD (double rod), ACQJ (adjustable stroke) and TACQ (guided). Select the bore based on the required push or pull force: 12-25mm bores handle light loads (57-245N at 0.5 MPa), while 80-160mm bores deliver heavy force (up to 10053N). Choose ACQD for symmetrical thrust, ACQJ for adjustable stroke, or TACQ for non-rotating guidance. Confirm these five points before ordering: bore size, required stroke length, port thread (M5 to PT3/8), mounting bracket (FA/FB/CB/LB), and magnet option (-S for switches).
Step out of the ACQ series if you need an ISO 15552 or ISO 6432 profile cylinder, as ACQ is strictly a JIS compact design. If your application requires adjustable air cushioning for heavy loads, or a tie-rod construction, select a different AirTAC family. Note that the double-acting ACQ does not hold position on loss of air; a mechanical lock or pilot check valve is required for load holding.
