AirTAC Pneumatics
AirTAC ACE series ISO 21287 compact cylinders deliver short-stroke power in a body about 50% shorter than ISO 15552 profile cylinders, for 12-125 mm bores.
inventory_2981 models availableThe AirTAC ACE series is a standard single-rod, double-acting compact cylinder built to ISO 21287 dimensions. Its short hard-anodized aluminium-alloy body (bore roller-burnished then anodized) with an S45C hard-chrome piston rod and aluminium covers threaded onto the body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder. Available in 11 bores from 12 to 125 mm, with rod diameters from 6 mm (bore 12) to 25 mm (bore 125). Ports are M5x0.8 for bores 12-25, 1/8 inch for bores 32-63, and 1/4 inch for bores 80-125.
A two-way grease-storing piston seal and a fixed TPU bumper at each end provide deceleration near stroke end (not a lock or brake). Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa, temperature -20 to +80 C, and speed 30-500 mm/s. The body has magnet grooves for CMSE/DMSE switches; the magnet is optional (order -S). Mounting options include FA/FB flange, LB foot, CA/CB clevis, CR, SDB pivot, FTC brackets, and I/Y rod knuckles, all following the ISO 21287 face. The ACE is the current-production replacement for the discontinued DIN-standard ACP series (swap P for E).

Compact ACE cylinders (bores 12-32 mm) fit tight spaces on pick-and-place arms, providing fast, short-stroke actuation for grippers in assembly lines.
Bores 32-63 mm with clevis or pivot mounts actuate stops and diverters on packaging conveyors, saving length compared to profile cylinders.
Larger bores (80-125 mm) deliver high force for clamping fixtures and safety guards, with the short body fitting into machine frames.
Small bores (12-20 mm) with M5 ports suit compact lab equipment for sorting or dispensing, where precise, short strokes are needed.
Choose the ACE bore based on the required push force: at 0.5 MPa, push force spans about 57 N (bore 12) to 6136 N (bore 125); at 1.0 MPa, max theoretical push spans about 12 kgf to 1251 kgf. For applications needing a double rod, adjustable stroke, or non-rotating guide, step to neighbouring AirTAC series: ACED (double rod), ACEJ (adjustable stroke), TACE (non-rotating twin-guide), or TACED (non-rotating double rod). For single-acting push or pull, consider ASE or ATE. If you need a JIS-dimension equivalent, use the ACQ series.
When selecting, confirm these 5 points: (1) bore size, (2) stroke length, (3) port thread (M5x0.8, 1/8 inch, or 1/4 inch), (4) mounting style (flange, foot, clevis, pivot, etc.), and (5) whether you need the -S magnet for CMSE/DMSE switches. For load holding, note that a double-acting cylinder does not hold position when pressure is lost; add a mechanical lock, rod brake, or pilot check valve.
Quick checklist
At 0.5 MPa, push force spans about 57 N (bore 12) to 6136 N (bore 125). At 1.0 MPa, max theoretical push spans about 12 kgf to 1251 kgf. Pull force is slightly less due to the rod area.
ACE is the standard single-rod double-acting cylinder. ACED is double-rod, ACEJ has adjustable stroke, TACE is non-rotating twin-guide, and TACED is non-rotating double-rod. For single-acting push or pull, use ASE or ATE. ACE replaces the discontinued ACP series.
No. ACE is built to ISO 21287 compact dimensions, not ISO 15552. It is about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, but mounting interfaces follow the ISO 21287 face. For ISO 15552 profile cylinders, look to other AirTAC series.
