The AirTAC Airtac 3V Solenoid Valves 3V106CT is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V106CT is an individual AirTAC 3V1 valve configured exactly as the code reads: 1/8in ports cut to NPT thread, an AC110V coil drawing 4.5 VA, and a DIN plug connection. It is a 3/2 direct-acting, single-solenoid valve with spring return, so it either feeds the outlet from supply or vents that same line to exhaust when the coil de-energises. That feed-or-vent behaviour makes it the right part for single-acting cylinders, clamping circuits, on/off air blow and pilot duty. The NPT taper is the North American standard thread on this family, and the catalogue lists G and PT variants as separate order codes - so if your pipework is BSPP or Rc, those are the codes to quote instead. Manual override is fitted for set-up, and the IP65 (DIN 40050) housing shrugs off dust and wash-down splashes.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| AC110V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| NPT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Switches a single-acting swing clamp on a machin- ing fixture with NPT ports, so the fitter mates straight to existing 1/8in NPT circuits without adapters.
An on/off blow task: energise to feed the nozzle line, de-energise and the spring vents the line, clearing chips from freshly cut aluminium parts.
Uses its small 3/2 stage to pilot a larger process valve on a North American water-treatment skid, keeping coil load at just 4.5 VA on the AC110V control circuit.
Size this valve in both directions. The 3V1 is the smallest, lowest-power body in the range, and AirTAC publishes no Cv or effective-area figure for it - so for flow-critical duties, confirm sizing with us by RFQ. When more flow is needed, step up to the 3V2 (1/8in and 1/4in, Cv 0.18-0.19, NC or NO selectable, and rated for vacuum) or the 3V3 (1/4in, Cv 0.62). If panel density matters more than flow, the 3V2M is the manifold-first alternative. And if the actuator is a double-acting cylinder, you need a 5-port valve - send that enquiry to the AirTAC 4V series. Before ordering, pin down five points: port (M5 or 1/8in), thread (NPT as on this SKU; PT is the family default, G to order), coil voltage (this one is AC110V), electrical entry (DIN plug here, flying lead on -I codes), and whether you want a single valve like this or a 1 to 20-station manifold assembly.
Confirm before you order
It is a 3/2 direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return valve with 1/8in NPT ports. Operating pressure is 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), media temperature is -20 to 70 C, and the AC110V coil is rated 4.5 VA (AC220V and AC110V are both 4.5 VA; AC24V is 5.0 VA; DC24V is 3.0 W; DC12V is 2.5 W). Protection is IP65 to DIN 40050 and the air supply must be filtered to 40 um or finer; lubrication is not required. AirTAC does not publish a Cv or effective-area figure for the 3V1, so treat flow as unconfirmed and check any critical duty with us.
This 3/2 valve drives single-acting (spring-return) cylinders, clamp circuits, on/off air blow and larger pilot valves. It cannot drive a double-acting cylinder in both directions - that needs a 5-port valve from the AirTAC 4V series. On thread: NPT is the imperial tapered option built into this SKU's code, while PT (Rc) is the standard thread across the 3V1 family and G (BSPP parallel, needing bonded seals) is a separate catalogue order code - specify the one your piping actually uses when you request a quote.
