The AirTAC Airtac 3V Solenoid Valves 3V106FT is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The AirTAC 3V106FT is an individual 3/2-way direct-acting solenoid valve with a 1/8 inch NPT port and a DC12V coil drawing just 2.5 W. It switches one line between feed and exhaust, so it drives single-acting spring-return cylinders, on/off air blow, clamps or pilots a larger valve. As with every 3V1 body it is single solenoid with spring return, and it arrives in a single fixed initial state - confirm it on the datasheet. Two details set this SKU apart: the T suffix orders the NPT imperial tapered thread instead of the PT default, and the DC12V coil suits low-voltage battery or vehicle electrical systems. The DIN plug entry takes a standard socket connector, and a manual override is fitted for commissioning. Protection is IP65 (DIN 40050).

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC12V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| NPT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A 12 V coil drawing 2.5 W runs straight from a vehicle battery or alternator system, cycling a single-acting cab-tilt or tailgate-lift cylinder on a delivery truck without draining the supply.
The NPT1/8 ports thread directly onto imperial fixture plumbing, venting the clamp cylinder to exhaust the moment the solenoid drops, so parts release by spring force during jig changeover.
An operator button feeds DIN-plug control power to the DC12V coil, delivering a short puff of filtered air to clear chips or dust from a small machined part before inspection.
3V1 is the smallest, lowest-power body in the AirTAC 3V range, but it has no published Cv or effective-area figure, so for flow-critical duties confirm sizing with us first. When 1/8 inch flow is not enough, step up to 3V2 (1/8 and 1/4 inch, NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, vacuum rated) or 3V3 (1/4 inch, Cv 0.62). If a dense valve bank matters more than flow, 3V2M is the manifold specialist. Double-acting cylinders need a 5-port valve - go to the AirTAC 4V series. Before ordering the 3V106FT, match five points to your drawing: 1/8 inch port in NPT (PT is the family standard and G is also a catalogue option), the DC12V coil, the DIN plug entry rather than flying leads, and individual-valve format - manifold bases are ordered separately if you later need 1-20 stations in series.
Confirm before you order
It is a 3/2-way direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return valve in the 3V1 body with 1/8 inch NPT ports and a DC12V coil rated 2.5 W. Operating pressure is 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), ambient and medium temperature is -20 to 70 C, and protection is IP65 (DIN 40050). The medium is air filtered through a 40 um or finer element; lubrication is not required. No flow coefficient (Cv) or effective area is published for 3V1, so confirm any flow-critical duty with us before ordering.
The 2.5 W DC12V coil is the lowest-power option in the 3V1 range and matches battery-powered vehicles, mobile carts and low-voltage control panels where 24 V or mains coils are impractical. This SKU uses a DIN plug entry, so you terminate the wiring in a standard DIN socket connector rather than soldering flying leads - handy for quick coil replacement. A manual override is fitted for testing the valve before the electrical side is live.
