The AirTAC Airtac 3V Solenoid Valves 3V206NCBT is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V206NCBT is a 1/8-inch NPT-port, normally closed 3/2 solenoid valve from AirTAC, configured with a DC24V coil on a DIN plug connection. In its rest state the outlet is isolated and vented; energising the coil opens the valve, and the spring returns it to closed the moment power is removed. This makes it a safe choice for air blow-off, single-acting cylinder control, clamping and pilot duty, where the line must go dead if the supply fails. It is direct-acting, so it shifts on differential pressure alone with no minimum pilot pressure - a genuine advantage for vacuum and low-pressure circuits. Rated from -102.2 kPa to 0.1 MPa, this poppet-style valve can switch a vacuum line as well as a compressed-air line. Flow through the 1/8in port is 3.2 mm2 effective area, Cv 0.18, and the DC24V coil draws 7.0 W. PT is the standard thread on the 3V2 family; NPT is an order-code option, as is the G (BSPP) parallel variant.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V2 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V2 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| NC | Normally closed: no air at the outlet until the coil is energised. |
| DC24V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| NPT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A DC24V NC valve holds the vacuum line closed until the controller energises it, letting the -102.2 kPa-rated poppet seat isolate the vacuum fixture between parts without a separate vacuum-rated valve.
Normally closed action vents the single-acting clamp cylinder when 24 VDC control power is lost, releasing the workpiece and failing safe on the fabrication line.
The 3.2 mm2 / Cv 0.18 1/8in port gives a short, controllable puff of air to clear the bottle neck before capping, cycling on a PLC output through the DIN plug connection.
Check five points before ordering this code: 1/8in port with NPT threads (order the PT or G suffix instead if your pipework is Rc or BSPP); normally closed action; DC24V coil; DIN plug entry (add I for a flying-lead coil); and whether the circuit sees vacuum - this valve does, unlike the 3V1 and 3V2M. If your supply is DC24V and coil wattage is critical, note the smaller 3V1 sips only 3.0 W against the 7.0 W here. Where many stations share one base, the 3V2M manifold wins on density but drops to Cv 0.1; this individually-ported 3V2 passes roughly 1.8x its flow. For duties needing much more than Cv 0.19, step up to the 3V3 at Cv 0.62 - the small 1/8-to-1/4 step within 3V2 barely moves the number. Driving a double-acting cylinder needs a 5-port valve: specify the AirTAC 4V series instead.

It is a 3/2 direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return poppet valve, normally closed, with a 1/8in NPT port and DC24V coil (7.0 W, AC coils are 7 VA) on a DIN plug. Flow is 3.2 mm2 effective area, Cv 0.18 for the 06 (1/8in) body; the 08 (1/4in) body gives 3.4 mm2, Cv 0.19. Operating pressure is 0-0.8 MPa, with vacuum service rated -102.2 kPa to 0.1 MPa. Medium is air filtered to 40 um or finer, temperature range -20 to 70 C, protection IP65. A manual override is fitted for commissioning.
NC means the outlet stays vented and isolated until the coil is energised, so anything downstream de-energises safely if power drops - usually the right pick for clamps, blow-off and pilot lines. A 3/2 valve feeds or vents one line, so it suits single-acting (spring-return) cylinders, air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and piloting a larger valve. It cannot drive a double-acting cylinder, which needs two outlet ports - use the AirTAC 4V series for that.
