The AirTAC Airtac 3V Solenoid Valves 3V31010NCC-W is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 3/8 in ports. A 3/2 valve either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, so it suits single-acting cylinders, air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty. We stock this code and confirm its published figures from the datasheet on request.
3V31010NCC-W is the AC110V, normally closed version of AirTAC's 3/8in 3/2 valve. Three ports and two states: supply, outlet, exhaust - feed or vent. Normally closed is the fail-quiet choice: no energised coil, no air at the outlet, so a single-acting cylinder retracts on its spring and a blow line stays shut whenever the AC110V supply is off. That makes it the natural pick where the machine's safe condition is everything released and standing down.
You are buying a genuine AirTAC component. The same family also offers normally open states, coils in AC220V, DC24V, AC110V, AC24V and DC12V, flying-lead or DIN plug entry, and 3V-F manifold bases for mounting several valves on one supply. Pressure, flow and coil power are datasheet items we will confirm for you on request.

A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Sending a pilot signal to a large diaphragm valve on a water treatment skid, switched from an AC110V control panel.
Holding a machined blank in a soft-jaw fixture; the spring-return clamp opens the moment the AC110V coil de-energises.
Feeding and releasing parts in a pneumatic fastener feeder where the outlet must vent whenever the assembly machine stops.
Start with the state question: what should happen when control power fails? This normally closed valve shuts the outlet and vents it, which suits spring-return clamps and blow lines that must stand down. If your safe condition is the opposite - air flowing while de-energised - order the normally open variant instead. The coil here is fixed at AC110V; match it to the panel, because a coil wound for one voltage cannot be rewired for another. Entry is a DIN plug, and a flying-lead version is available if pre-wired cable suits your wiring better. The 3/8in PT thread is the family's largest port; a bigger port feeds a bigger single-acting actuator. For several valves on one machine, a 3V-F manifold base shares one air feed and one wiring run. Ask us to check sizing against your actuator before ordering, since published flow data for this series is not ours to quote - the AirTAC 3V2 and 3V3 bodies do carry published figures if you need them immediately. For double-acting cylinders, the 5-port AirTAC 4V series is the right family.
Confirm before you order
Yes - by RFQ. Those numbers come off the AirTAC datasheet, which we will send or read out for you. If you want documented figures before asking, the AirTAC 3V2 and 3V3 bodies publish flow and coil power; this page does not quote any performance data.
Decide by the safe state. NC cuts and vents the outlet when de-energised; NO keeps supply flowing to the outlet until energised. If a stopped machine must leave a cylinder extended or a line supplied, take the NO version; if everything should release and stand down, NC is right. Neither state drives a double-acting cylinder - that needs a 5-port valve such as the AirTAC 4V.
