About the AirTAC 4V430E-15 Solenoid Valve, 4V400 Series (4V430E15-X0)
The 4V430E15-X0 is the coil-less valve body of the AirTAC 4V430E-15: a 5/3-way, double-solenoid spool valve with an exhaust (float) center, supplied without the solenoid coils or electrical connector so you can fit your own coils at the voltage your machine uses. In the center position both cylinder ports A and B vent to exhaust, letting a double-acting cylinder drift freely for manual repositioning or free-fall applications; either solenoid then shifts the spool to drive the cylinder full-stroke. Pneumatic performance is unchanged from the complete valve: 40.0 mm2 effective area (Cv 2.35), 1/2" PT ports, and a response time of 0.05 s or less.
This is the largest body in the 4V family and the flow class for big work: it suits cylinders of roughly O80-125 mm bore, such as presses, heavy clamping and lifting gear. The complete 4V430E valve weighs 770 g, uses an aluminum-alloy body filtered by a 40 um element, and runs on 0.15-0.8 MPa with IP65-rated electricals once the correct coil is fitted. Size the valve so effective area / Cv is not the bottleneck for your cylinder bore and speed. Undersized valves slow the actuator. Note 5/3 (center) versions have a smaller effective area than the 5/2 of the same body size.

The exhaust (float) center vents both cylinder ports A and B to exhaust, so a double-acting cylinder is unrestrained and can be moved freely by hand or by load. It is not a holding or safety function: if your application must hold a suspended or fall-hazard load, add a pilot-operated check valve at the cylinder ports or a dedicated mechanical brake, because the valve alone cannot guarantee that.
