The AirTAC Airtac TACE Guided Compact Cylinder TACE100X90 is a genuine double acting, non-rotating ISO 21287 compact air cylinder with a Ø100mm bore and 90mm stroke, 1/4" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. Its short compact envelope saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder. Twin guide rods keep the tooling from rotating.
AirTAC builds the TACE100X90 as a double acting, non-rotating compact cylinder to ISO 21287: a 100 mm bore with a 90 mm stroke, a 20 mm rod and a 1/4" port. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 3927 N and pulls 3769.9 N; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 5497.8 N, with a theoretical peak of 800.9 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Twin guide rods on a yoke stop the tooling rotating and carry side load, so a heavy press plate or gripper stays square without an external guide. Plan on roughly 2356 N of usable thrust at 0.5 MPa (about 60% of the push figure), and expect it to lift about 200 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.
The short ISO 21287 body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so this 100 mm bore fits gantries and guarding where a full-length cylinder will not. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries a hard-chrome-plated S45C rod, and a fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-stroke energy. Air supply is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, fluid air filtered to 40 um. The magnet is optional: order the -S code to run CMSE / DMSE switches, since the plain TACE100X90 has no magnet and no sensing.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACE-series (ISO 21287) datasheet. Body: hard-anodized aluminium alloy; piston rod: S45C carbon steel with hard-chrome plating; guide rods: stainless steel (Ø12-40) / S45C (larger). Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G. A built-in magnet is OPTIONAL — add the -S code to fit CMSE / DMSE position sensors.

Actual usable force is lower than theoretical due to friction and back-pressure. Size with a safety margin. Twin guide rods stop the tooling rotating.

ACE-family variants: ACE (double acting), ASE / ATE (single acting push / pull), ACED (double rod), ACEJ (adjustable stroke), TACE / TACED (non-rotating twin-guide yoke). Mounting accessories: FA / FB flange, LB foot, CA / CB clevis, CR, SDB pivot, FTC; plus I and Y knuckles. Thread PT (blank) / G.
A 90 mm stroke leaves room for a clinch or stamp head to close on 2 mm aluminum sheet; 3927 N at 0.5 MPa forms the joint without a hydraulic power pack.
Fixture clamps on a machining line hold a 40 kg gearbox housing square while milling; the twin-guide yoke stops the clamp pad twisting under side load.
With a 2:1 margin the cylinder lifts about 200 kg vertically, enough to raise a punch holder clear of a die set during changeover on a press-shop gantry.
Step down to the 80 mm bore (2513.3 N push at 0.5 MPa) if your load needs under about 1500 N of working force; at 100 mm you are already at the top of the range, so there is no larger step up. Keep in mind the piston drifts the moment air is lost - it never holds position - so add a rod lock or pilot check valve for any suspended load. Mount with an FB flange, CA or CB clevis, or a CR / FTC foot, and note the rod ends in a female M12x1.75 thread with no male-thread option on the yoke. If end-of-stroke sensing matters, order the -S version so CMSE / DMSE switches can be fitted.
Quick checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 3927 N and pulls 3769.9 N. At 0.7 MPa push is 5497.8 N and pull is 5277.9 N. The theoretical maximum is 800.9 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Working pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s.
The ISO 21287 short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, and a fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-stroke energy. Mount it with an FB flange, CA or CB clevis, or a CR / FTC foot, and connect via the 1/4" PT port. Sensing requires the optional -S magnet: only with that code can CMSE or DMSE switches be mounted in the body slots.
