About the Airtac SC100 Standard Cylinder SC100X330TC

The SC100X330TC is a double-acting pneumatic cylinder delivering 3927 N of push force at 0.5 MPa (7068 N at 0.9 MPa). With a 100 mm bore and 330 mm stroke, it uses a 25 mm diameter piston rod and PT1/2 ports for reliable air flow in demanding industrial sequences.

This model is configured with a centre trunnion (TC) mount, supplied with the TCM1 bracket (F-SC100TC), allowing the cylinder to pivot during operation. The body length A is 188 mm, and the adjustable air cushion (29 mm) decelerates the piston smoothly at stroke ends, protecting end caps from impact damage.

Where the Airtac SC100 Standard Cylinder SC100X330TC Is Used

conveyor_belt

Conveyor Diverter Gates

The 330 mm stroke and centre trunnion mount let this cylinder pivot to actuate heavy diverter gates on wide conveyor lines, handling the 3927 N push force needed to redirect bulk materials.

precision_manufacturing

Welding Fixture Clamping

With 7068 N of clamping force at 0.9 MPa, this cylinder secures large weldments in automotive or structural steel fixtures, where the trunnion mount accommodates the fixture's swing motion.

agriculture

Agricultural Implement Control

The robust tie-rod design and pivoting TC mount make it suitable for controlling chutes or hopper doors on harvesters and spreaders, tolerating dusty conditions with standard TPU seals.

Is the Airtac SC100 Standard Cylinder SC100X330TC the Right Cylinder?

Select the SC100 when your application needs roughly 3927 N at standard plant pressure. If your load is closer to 2500 N, stepping down to an 80 mm bore (2513 N at 0.5 MPa) can reduce air consumption and physical size. For strokes of 300 mm or more, like this 330 mm unit, watch for side loads—the 25 mm rod can bend if the load is not guided. Use an external guide rail or a guided cylinder when the load is not purely axial.

To replace an existing cylinder, match five points: 100 mm bore, 330 mm stroke, PT1/2 ports, centre trunnion (TC) mounting with the TCM1 bracket, and no magnet (this model does not have the -S option). The SC is a tie-rod cylinder and is not dimensionally interchangeable with ISO 15552 profile cylinders.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Required force at your working pressure
  • ✓ Stroke and mounting space
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT/NPT/G)
  • ✓ Magnet (-S) for sensors?
  • ✓ Side load — consider a guided cylinder

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Use clean air filtered to 40µm or finer.
  • check Keep within 0.15 – 1.0 MPa operating pressure.
  • check Avoid side load on the piston rod.
  • check Adjust end cushion screws for smooth stops.
  • check Use correct mounting accessory (FA/FB/CA/CB/LB/TC).
  • check Installation by qualified personnel per AirTAC docs.

Airtac SC100 Standard Cylinder SC100X330TC FAQ

At 0.5 MPa the push force is 3927 N, and the pull force is 3681 N. At the maximum operating pressure of 0.9 MPa, the push force reaches 7068 N. The theoretical maximum force at 1.0 MPa is 801 kgf.

No. The SC100X330TC is a double-acting cylinder and will drift or drop if air pressure is lost or the directional valve is centred. The adjustable air cushion only decelerates the piston at stroke ends; it does not lock or hold the load. For position holding without live pressure, you must add a pilot-operated check valve or an external rod brake.
