About the Airtac ACED Double-acting Compact Cylinder ACED100X225
A double acting compact cylinder built to ISO 21287, the ACED100X225 pushes a 100 mm piston through a 225 mm stroke with a rod leaving BOTH covers. Because each side of the piston sees the rod-side area, output is identical in either direction: 3769.9 N at 0.5 MPa and 5277.9 N at 0.7 MPa. The through-rod also fights rotation and side load, and the rear rod makes a handy mount for a sensor flag on gantry or press fixtures.
The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome plated rod runs on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), 30-500 mm/s, from -20 to +70 C. Its short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into presses and lifting stations where a full-length body will not fit. Plan on roughly 2262 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa (about 60% of rating), which is close to lifting a 230 kg part vertically with margin. A fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-stroke shock; add the -S code if you later want CMSE / DMSE switch sensing.
