About the Airtac ACED Double-acting Compact Cylinder ACED25X40
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACED25X40 pushes with identical force on every stroke because each side of the 25 mm piston works on the rod-side area: 206.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 288.6 N at 0.7 MPa, equal extend and retract. The through-rod also fights rotation and light side load, and its rear end makes a handy mount for a sensor flag on pick-and-place heads.
The ISO 21287 short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into cramped rotary-index tables and slide assemblies. As a rule of thumb, plan on roughly 124 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which is about 12 kg held vertically with a 2:1 margin. The optional -S magnet (ordered as ACED25X40S) enables CMSE / DMSE switches; without it no magnet is fitted.
