About the Airtac ACED Double-acting Compact Cylinder ACED40X45S
A double acting compact cylinder built to ISO 21287, the ACED40X45S pushes a 12 mm rod out of BOTH covers, so thrust is identical on every stroke: 571.8 N at 0.5 MPa and 800.5 N at 0.7 MPa in each direction. The 40 mm bore runs on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof rating, and speed spans 30-500 mm/s.
The short hard-anodized aluminium body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. The through-rod resists rotation and side load and gives a symmetric mount, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag. A fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-stroke shock, and because the S code is in this model the magnet is fitted - CMSE / DMSE switches mount directly on the body slots.
