This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE20X10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE20X10 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP20X10 is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø20mm bore and 10mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE20X10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP20X10 is a double acting compact cylinder in the DIN-standard ACP series, with a 20 mm bore and a very short 10 mm stroke. Air drives the rod in both directions, and fixed TPU bumpers at each end decelerate the piston. Push force is 157.1 N and pull force 117.8 N at 0.5 MPa, rising to 219.9 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Its hard-anodized aluminium body and S45C hard-chrome rod run at 30-500 mm/s on air filtered to 40 um, at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into cramped fixtures and sliding guards. In practice, plan on roughly 94 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (about 60% of the rating), which corresponds to lifting around 9 kg vertically - or about 4-5 kg with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production replacement is the ACE20X10, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE20X10 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 157 N | 118 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 220 N | 165 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 32 kgf | |
The ACE20X10 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 20 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×10 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
A 10 mm stroke with 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick stamped clips or moulded caps off a nest on an assembly bench, and the short body fits under the tooling plate.
Clamping small aluminium brackets in a drilling jig: about 94 N of usable force at 0.5 MPa holds light parts firmly, and the compact body clears nearby clamps.
Short indexing of a miniature slide on a packaging machine, with CMSE or DMSE switches available when the optional -S magnet is ordered.
For a 10 mm stroke at this force level, compare the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa) if space is tighter, or step up to the 25 mm bore (245.4 N push) for heavier clamping. Remember that a plain ACP20X10 does not hold position when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check valve for held loads. The rod end carries a female M6x1.0 thread and the port is M5x0.8 (PT). Mounting options include FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis, and the optional -S magnet code enables CMSE / DMSE switches; without -S no magnet is fitted. This model is discontinued - order the ACE20X10 as the drop-in successor and verify ISO 21287 dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes with 157.1 N and pulls with 117.8 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 219.9 N push and 164.9 N pull. The theoretical maximum is 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, and speed is 30-500 mm/s.
No - the ACP family is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is the ACE20X10 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same 20 mm bore, 10 mm stroke and force class in the ISO 21287 compact format. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP was built to a DIN standard.
