This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE20X100 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE20X100 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP20X100 is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø20mm bore and 100mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE20X100 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP20X100 is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 20 mm bore and 100 mm stroke, driving a 10 mm hard-chrome S45C rod from a hard-anodized aluminium body. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 157.1 N and pulls 117.8 N, rising to 219.9 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Its short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures and guarding.
In practice, plan on about 94 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 8 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin - enough for small clamps, chutes and light lift-and-position tasks. The fixed TPU bumpers at both ends simply decelerate the piston; they never hold a load, so use a rod lock or pilot check valve where position must be kept. This model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACE20X100, which matches the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE20X100 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 157 N | 118 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 220 N | 165 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 32 kgf | |
The ACE20X100 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 20 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×100 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to kick finished electronics housings or connector blocks off a nest, and the 100 mm stroke clears a full magazine depth.
With about 8 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, the cylinder raises sensor heads or probe plates over PCB inspection fixtures within its 100 mm travel.
The short body, about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, clamps plastic brackets or aluminium extrusions inside crowded welding and gluing jigs.
At 20 mm bore this sits mid-range: the 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa for lighter work, while the 25 mm bore reaches 245.4 N if your load needs more margin. The 100 mm stroke is the maximum standard stroke for this bore, so no made-to-order length is needed. The rod end is female M6x1.0 and the port is M5x0.8 PT. If you need position sensing, order the -S variant to enable the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches - without the -S code there is no magnet. Mounting covers FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis. Since ACP is discontinued, specify the ACE20X100 as the current replacement and verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 157.1 N and pulls 117.8 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 219.9 N and pulls 164.9 N. The theoretical maximum is 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, running on air filtered to 40 um at 30-500 mm/s.
No - the ACP family is discontinued. The current-production replacement is the ACE20X100 (swap the P for an E), an ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class with a matching mounting family. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP was built to the DIN standard.
