This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X10SH — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X10SH in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X10SH is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 10mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X10SH (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder built to the DIN-standard short-body format, the ACP25X10SH pairs a 25 mm bore with a 10 mm stroke and ships with the optional -S magnet already fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke sensing. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N, rising to 343.6 N on the extend stroke at 0.7 MPa. The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod runs on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) air filtered to 40 um, at speeds of 30-500 mm/s.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why this size suits tight slides and small fixtures. For sizing, plan on about 147 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the rating) - enough to lift about 12 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ACE25X10, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. A fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-travel contact but never holds a load when air is lost.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X10SH (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X10SH produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×10 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 10 mm stroke and 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa suit kicking finished bushings or caps off a machining fixture into a chute, with the fitted magnet confirming eject position via a CMSE switch.
About 147 N of practical clamping force at 0.5 MPa holds small aluminium brackets against a drill jig, and the short body fits where a full-length profile cylinder cannot.
On packaging lines, the 10 mm throw diverts lightweight cartons at a gate, with a DMSE solid-state switch on the -S magnet signalling gate-open for PLC interlocking.
For a 10 mm stroke at this force level, compare the 20 mm bore (157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa) if the load is lighter, or step up to the 32 mm bore (402.1 N push) if you need headroom. The female M6x1.0 rod thread takes standard I/Y knuckles, and FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis mounts bolt to the same face. If the load must stay put when the valve centres, add a rod lock or pilot check valve - the bumper does not lock. Order ACE25X10 as the current replacement and verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it delivers 245.4 N push and 206.2 N pull; at 0.7 MPa, 343.6 N push and 288.6 N pull. The theoretical maximum is 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. In practice plan on about 147 N of usable push, roughly enough to lift 12 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. It is double acting, runs on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) air at 30-500 mm/s, and is discontinued - ACE25X10 is the current replacement.
The SH code already includes the optional -S magnet, so CMSE reed or DMSE solid-state switches mount directly on the aluminium body to signal extend or retract. Without the -S code there is no magnet and no sensing. The fixed TPU bumpers at both ends simply decelerate the piston at end of travel; they do not brake or hold the rod, so use a rod lock or pilot check valve if the load must stay in place when air is lost.
