This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X125 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X125 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X125 is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 125mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X125 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP25X125 is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 25 mm bore and 125 mm stroke, delivering 245.4 N of push force and 206.2 N of pull force at 0.5 MPa. Its hard-anodized aluminium body with threaded aluminium covers and an S45C hard-chrome rod keeps the mounting length about 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot fit. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a speed range of 30-500 mm/s.
This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACE25X125, a drop-in successor in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. Note that this unit has no magnet fitted, so no CMSE or DMSE switch can be mounted; the optional -S code adds the magnet if sensing is needed. For sizing, plan on roughly 147 N (about 15 kg) of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 7 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X125 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X125 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×125 | Stroke length in mm. |

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps aluminium workpieces in machining fixtures, and the short body fits inside the pallet envelope.
With 206.2 N of pull force at 0.5 MPa, the rod retracts a pusher bar that kicks off-spec bottles off a 300 mm conveyor section.
A 125 mm stroke closes top flaps on small cartons at up to 500 mm/s, with the fixed TPU bumper decelerating the rod at both ends.
At 25 mm bore the ACP25X125 sits mid-range: a 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa for lighter tooling, while a 32 mm bore reaches 402.1 N when the load grows. The 125 mm stroke is within the 150 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is a catalogue item, not a made-to-order build. Remember that a plain cylinder of this type drifts when air is lost - for a held load, pair it with a rod lock or pilot check valve. FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mountings are available, and the ACE25X125 is the current replacement to order.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 343.6 N and pulls 288.6 N. The theoretical maximum is 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It runs on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), from -20 to +70 C at 30-500 mm/s.
No - the ACP family is discontinued. Order the ACE25X125 instead: swap the P for an E and you get the same 25 mm bore, 125 mm stroke and force class in the current ISO 21287 compact body. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before the swap, since the ACP was built to the DIN standard.
