This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X125SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X125SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X125SB is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 125mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X125SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP25X125SB is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 25 mm bore and 125 mm stroke, driven by air in both directions and stopped by a fixed TPU bumper at each end. Its short hard-anodized aluminium body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and gantry frames where a full-length body will not fit. The male rod thread (B code) bolts straight to I/Y knuckles on the ISO 21287 face.
At 0.5 MPa this bore pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 343.6 N with a theoretical ceiling of 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. In practice plan on roughly 147 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 12 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin - enough for small fixtures and light parts. This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be fitted for end-of-stroke sensing. The ACP family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACE25X125 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X125SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X125SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×125 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa (about 12 kg vertical lift with margin) ejects machined bushings or stamped clips from a nest, and the 125 mm stroke clears deep pockets in the fixture plate.
Because this model carries the -S magnet, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm full clamp or release on an electronics test bench, with the short body fitting under a low guard.
Pushing cartons or trays sideways on a conveyor needs roughly 147 N of real-world force at 0.5 MPa - within this bore's reach - and the compact length fits between guide rails.
Size both ways: if 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa is more than the job needs, the 20 mm bore (157.1 N) saves space; if the load needs more muscle, step up to the 32 mm bore (402.1 N). The 125 mm stroke sits inside the 150 mm standard range for bore 25, so no made-to-order build is required. Note that a plain cylinder drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check valve if the load must stay put. This version has the -S magnet fitted for CMSE / DMSE switches and a male rod thread; the discontinued ACP25X125SB maps to the ACE25X125 as the current replacement.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa push is 343.6 N and pull 288.6 N, with a theoretical maximum of 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. For sizing, count on about 147 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting roughly 12 kg vertically with a 2:1 safety margin.
Order the ACE25X125, the ISO 21287 successor: swap the P for an E and you get the same 25 mm bore, 125 mm stroke and force class in a current-production short-body cylinder. The ACP is DIN-standard, so verify the ISO 21287 mounting hole pattern and FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis dimensions against your fixture before the swap.
