This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X30SBCA — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X30SBCA in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X30SBCA is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 30mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X30SBCA (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP25X30SBCA is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 25 mm bore and a short 30 mm stroke, built around a hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod and a fixed TPU bumper at each end. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N, rising to 343.6 N and 288.6 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs, guarding and gantries. The S code means the optional -S magnet is fitted on this unit, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted directly on the body.
The B code gives a male rod thread on the 10 mm rod, the CA clevis is ordered as the mounting accessory, and air ports are M5x0.8, which applies to every bore from 12 to 25 mm. For planning, treat about 0.6 of the push force as usable work, so roughly 147 N, which equates to lifting about 15 kg vertically - or about 12 kg with a 2:1 margin. Note that this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACE25X30, which matches the same bore, stroke and force class, but confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping because the ACP follows the older DIN standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X30SBCA (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X30SBCA produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×30 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to seat bushings or dowel pins into aluminium housings on a bench-top assembly fixture, with the 30 mm stroke covering the approach and press travel.
With the CA clevis mounted, the cylinder swings a lightweight sorting arm that tips small castings off a conveyor lane, the male rod thread taking an I or Y knuckle directly.
Because the -S magnet is fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm full clamp closure on a plastics injection jig, signalling the PLC before the mould closes.
At 25 mm bore this sits mid-range: a 20 mm bore delivers 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa if the load is lighter, while a 32 mm bore gives 402.1 N when you need more muscle. The 30 mm stroke is well inside the 150 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is a catalogue length, not a made-to-order one. Remember that a plain cylinder of this type drifts when air is lost - for a held load add a rod lock or pilot check valve. The CA clevis suits pivot links, and the fitted -S magnet pairs with CMSE / DMSE switches for end-of-stroke signalling. Order the ACE25X30 instead, since the ACP25X30SBCA is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 343.6 N push and 288.6 N pull. The theoretical maximum is 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s. In practice, plan on roughly 147 N of usable push - about 15 kg of vertical lift - rather than the full rating.
The short-body build saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it fits where a full-length cylinder will not. It has a fixed TPU bumper at both ends and a male rod thread on the 10 mm rod. The model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ACE25X30, a drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
