About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD50X10
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod through BOTH covers, the ACPD50X10 delivers 881.2 N in either direction at 0.5 MPa (1233.7 N at 0.7 MPa) because both strokes work on the rod-side area of the 50 mm bore. The 16 mm through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mounting face, and leaves the rear rod free to carry a sensor flag. A fixed TPU bumper sits at each end and the body runs at 30-500 mm/s on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) air.
The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the short ISO 21287 format, saving about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into shallow fixtures and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. Note this model is DISCONTINUED: the current-production drop-in is the ACED50X10, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. For real work, plan on roughly 529 N (about 0.6 of the rating) at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 27 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

At 881.2 N both ways, the 50 mm bore suits clamping and reciprocating tasks in the 50-80 kg load class; step down to the 40 mm bore (571.8 N) for lighter jigs or up to the 63 mm bore (1458.1 N) when the part is heavier. The 10 mm stroke is well inside the 250 mm standard range for this bore. A plain through-rod cylinder drifts when air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check if the load must stay put.
