This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED50X10B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED50X10B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD50X10B is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø50mm bore and 10mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED50X10B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting, double-rod compact cylinder built to the DIN-standard ACP format, the ACPD50X10B pushes and pulls with identical force because a rod exits both covers and both strokes work on the rod-side area. At 0.5 MPa it delivers 881.2 N in either direction, rising to 1233.7 N at 0.7 MPa. The 16 mm through-rod resists rotation and side load, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag or a second tool. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight printing-head slides and pick stations where a full-length body will not fit.
The hard-anodized aluminium body carries aluminium covers threaded on at each end, with an S45C hard-chrome rod and a fixed TPU bumper at both ends. Running on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), it cycles at 30-500 mm/s across -20 to +70 C. As a rule of thumb, plan on about 529 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 45 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note that this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED50X10, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED50X10B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 881 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 1234 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 180 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 50 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×10 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
A 10 mm shuttle stroke on a PCB tray indexer, where the through-rod gives 881.2 N in both directions and the rear rod carries a position flag.
Short-travel date-code stamping on packaging lines, using the short body that saves about 50% of the length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder.
Clamping a machined housing between two rod ends in a machining fixture, with equal 1233.7 N force at 0.7 MPa from either side.
For a 50 mm bore job needing equal push and pull, this unit gives 881.2 N both ways at 0.5 MPa. If your load is lighter, the ACPD40X10B offers 571.8 N; if you need more, step up to the ACPD63X10B at 1458.1 N. The 10 mm stroke is well inside the 250 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore. The B code gives a male rod thread (M10x1.5 female is the blank option) and the port is 1/8" PT. This version has no magnet, so CMSE or DMSE switches cannot be used unless you order the -S code. Remember that a plain double-rod cylinder drifts when air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check for a held load. Order the ACED50X10 instead, as this model is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
Yes. Because it is a double-rod cylinder, both strokes use the rod-side area, so output is equal either way: 881.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 1233.7 N at 0.7 MPa. The maximum force at 1.0 MPa is 179.7 kgf. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, speed 30-500 mm/s.
No, the ACPD family is discontinued. The current-production drop-in is the ACED50X10 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same bore, stroke and force class in the ISO 21287 short-body format. Since the ACP is DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. FA/FB flange and LB foot brackets bolt to the same face family.
