This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED50X110S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED50X110S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD50X110S is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø50mm bore and 110mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED50X110S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting with a rod exiting both covers, the ACPD50X110S is a DIN-standard compact cylinder in the 50 mm bore class. Because each stroke works on the rod-side area, it delivers an equal 881.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 1233.7 N at 0.7 MPa in both directions. The 110 mm stroke sits well inside the 250 mm standard range for this bore, and the 1/8" port feeds it at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with speeds of 30-500 mm/s. This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke signalling.
The through-rod resists rotation and side load and gives a symmetric mount, while the free back-end rod is a handy carrier for a sensor flag. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends to soften arrival. The hard-anodized aluminium body is an ISO 21287 short build, saving roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which makes it easy to tuck into tight jigs and gantries. Note that this ACPD is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ACED50X110, the same bore, stroke and force class, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. As a planning figure, treat about 529 N (roughly 54 kg of thrust) as the usable output at 0.5 MPa, or expect it to lift about 45 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED50X110S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 881 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 1234 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 180 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 50 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The equal 881.2 N output in both directions lets one cylinder clamp a housing from either side of a machining fixture without recalculating forces per stroke.
A rod at each end of a 110 mm shuttle stroke pushes a pallet carriage forward and back on a packaging line, with the fixed TPU bumpers softening each arrival.
On a bottling line reject gate, the back-end rod carries a sensor flag while the -S magnet drives CMSE switches for stroke confirmation at both ends.
At 881.2 N per direction, the 50 mm bore covers mid-range clamping and pressing; step down to a 40 mm bore (571.8 N at 0.5 MPa) for lighter work or up to 63 mm (1458.1 N) when the job needs more muscle. Like any plain double-rod cylinder it will drift if air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check where a load must be held. FA/FB flange and LB foot mounts bolt straight to the ISO 21287 face, and the -S magnet on this unit pairs with CMSE / DMSE switches. Since ACPD is discontinued, order ACED50X110 as the current replacement and verify the mounting dimensions against the ISO 21287 drawing.
Replacement checklist
Yes. Because a rod exits both covers, both strokes use the rod-side area, so force is equal either way: 881.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 1233.7 N at 0.7 MPa. At the full 1.0 MPa rating the ceiling is 179.7 kgf. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with proof pressure of 1.5 MPa (215 psi).
Order ACED50X110, the ISO 21287 successor made by swapping the P for an E. It matches the same 50 mm bore, 110 mm stroke and force class, and takes the same FA/FB flange and LB foot mounting family. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before the swap, since the ACP was built to a DIN-standard footprint.
