About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD50X225B
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD50X225B pushes and pulls with the same 881.2 N at 0.5 MPa because each stroke works on the rod-side area. The 50 mm bore sits in the mid-force band of the DIN-standard ACP range, and the 225 mm stroke stays inside the 250 mm standard limit for this bore, so no made-to-order build is needed. The through-rod resists rotation and light side load and gives a symmetric mount, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag in packaging or assembly machinery.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it fits tight gantries and slide tables. A fixed TPU bumper pads both stroke ends, the hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome 16 mm rod, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). This model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED50X225, same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. Plan on about 528 N (roughly 54 kg) of real work at 0.5 MPa, or about 45 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin.

A 50 mm bore with rods on both covers clamps a workpiece between two tooling points in one stroke, useful on machining fixtures where a single-rod cylinder cannot reach.
Conveyor pusher arm
At 30-500 mm/s and about 45 kg of vertical lift capability with a 2:1 margin, the through-rod drives a divertor arm across a packaging line without twisting under side load.
Replacing the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD50X225B with the ACED50X225B
Size both ways: if 881.2 N at 0.5 MPa is more than the job needs, the ACPD40X225B gives 571.8 N in the same double-rod format; if the load is heavier, step up to the ACPD63X225B at 1458.1 N. Remember that a plain double-rod cylinder drifts when air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check for a held load. The B code gives a male M10x1.5 rod thread; FA/FB flange, LB foot, CA/CB clevis, CR, SDB pivot and FTC brackets bolt to the standard face. This unit has no magnet - order the -S code if you want CMSE / DMSE switches. It is discontinued, so spec the ACED50X225 as the current replacement.
