About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD50X300SB
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD50X300SB pushes and pulls with identical force because each stroke works on the rod-side area: 881.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 1233.7 N at 0.7 MPa in either direction. The 16 mm through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mount, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag, while fixed TPU bumpers decelerate both ends. Its 300 mm stroke is beyond the 250 mm standard limit for a 50 mm bore, so this unit is made to order.
The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the ISO 21287 short format, cutting roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight gantries and guarding. Running on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with speeds of 30-500 mm/s, it carries the optional -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches and a male rod thread. In practical terms, plan on about 529 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which is roughly 54 kgf, and expect it to lift about 45 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is ACED50X300.
