About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD50X45S
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD50X45S delivers 881.2 N in either direction at 0.5 MPa because both strokes work on the rod-side area of the 50 mm bore. The 45 mm stroke body is an ISO 21287 short build that saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures where a full-length body cannot. This unit carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke signalling.
The through-rod resists rotation and side load and gives a symmetric mount, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag or a second tooling plate. A fixed TPU bumper sits at each end, the hard-anodized aluminium body pairs with an S45C hard-chrome rod, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). For real work, plan on about 529 N (roughly 54 kg) of usable push at 0.5 MPa rather than the full rating. Note that this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED50X45, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

At 881.2 N per side at 0.5 MPa, the 50 mm bore suits clamping and pressing in the 50-85 kg range; step down to the 40 mm bore (571.8 N) for lighter jigs or up to the 63 mm bore (1458.1 N) when more force is needed. The female M10x1.5 rod thread takes standard I/Y knuckles, and FA/FB flange or LB foot brackets bolt to the same face. Remember the piston drifts if air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check where a load must stay put. Order the ACED50X45 as the current replacement.
