About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD50X5B
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD50X5B delivers an identical 881.2 N at 0.5 MPa (1233.7 N at 0.7 MPa) in each direction, since both strokes work on the rod-side area of the 50 mm bore. The 5 mm stroke suits short clamp-and-release or eject motions, and the male rod thread (B code) bolts straight to I/Y knuckles on the ISO 21287 face. Its hard-anodized aluminium body runs about 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures and guarding.
Because the through-rod exits both ends, the rear rod can carry a sensor flag or a second tool, and the symmetric mount resists rotation and side load. A fixed TPU bumper sits at each end, and speed spans 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED50X5, same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. At 0.5 MPa, plan on roughly 529 N of usable work, which lifts about 45 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.
