About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD50X5SB
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD50X5SB pushes with the same 881.2 N at 0.5 MPa (1233.7 N at 0.7 MPa) in either direction, because both strokes work on the rod-side area of the 50 mm bore. The 5 mm stroke suits tiny repositioning moves, and the male rod thread (B code) plus the optional -S magnet that this model carries make switch mounting with CMSE or DMSE sensors straightforward. Its hard-anodized aluminium body is an ISO 21287 short build, roughly 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into cramped fixtures.
The through-rod resists rotation and light side load and gives a symmetric mount, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag on a packaging or assembly machine. A fixed TPU bumper sits at each end. In practice, plan on about 529 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which is roughly 54 kg of usable vertical load; the full rod-side rating equates to about 90 kgf. Note that this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED50X5 in the same bore, stroke and force class, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
