This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED50X60B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED50X60B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD50X60B is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø50mm bore and 60mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED50X60B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD50X60B delivers 881.2 N in each direction at 0.5 MPa because both strokes work on the rod-side area. The 16 mm through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mount, and lets the rear rod carry a sensor flag. Its short ISO 21287 body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and gantries.
The 60 mm stroke sits well inside the 250 mm standard range for the 50 mm bore, and the male rod thread (B code) bolts straight to I/Y knuckles. At 0.5 MPa the through-rod lifts roughly 89 kg vertically; halve that for a 2:1 margin and plan around 45 kg of real lifted part. A fixed TPU bumper pads both ends, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches. This model is discontinued - the current drop-in is ACED50X60, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED50X60B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 881 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 1234 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 180 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 50 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×60 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
A through-rod pushing a plastics injection mold insert back and forth on a 60 mm stroke, with the same 881.2 N clamping return as the advance stroke.
Clamping a machined aluminum housing between two rods on a CNC fixture, where the 16 mm through-rod resists side load and keeps the jaws square.
Using the rear rod of the double-rod body to carry a switch flag on a packaging line gate, with CMSE / DMSE switches when the optional -S magnet is ordered.
For 60 mm of travel with equal force both ways, the 50 mm bore gives 881.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 1233.7 N at 0.7 MPa. If your load needs less, the 40 mm bore offers 571.8 N at 0.5 MPa; if more, step up to the 63 mm bore at 1458.1 N. Note that a plain double-rod cylinder drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check for a held load. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings suit this face, and CMSE / DMSE switches require the optional -S magnet code. Order ACED50X60 as the current-production replacement.
Replacement checklist
Yes - the double-rod design means both strokes use the rod-side area, so output is equal either way: 881.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 1233.7 N at 0.7 MPa, with a maximum of 179.7 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, air filtered to 40 um, temperature -20 to +70 C.
Order ACED50X60, the current-production ISO 21287 successor made by swapping the P for an E. It matches the same 50 mm bore, 60 mm stroke and force class, but because the ACP is DIN-standard you should confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. FA/FB flange, LB foot and related brackets bolt to the same face family.
