About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD50X65S
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD50X65S pushes and pulls with identical output: 881.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 1233.7 N at 0.7 MPa in each direction, because both strokes work on the rod-side area of the 50 mm bore. The through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mounting point at each end, and lets the rear rod carry a sensor flag, while fixed TPU bumpers decelerate the piston at both ends. This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke detection.
The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the ISO 21287 short format, cutting roughly 50% of the mounting length compared with an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs and gantries. Plan on about 529 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa (a 0.6 margin on the rating), which corresponds to lifting roughly 45 kg vertically with a 2:1 safety factor. The 65 mm stroke is well inside the 250 mm standard limit for this bore. Because a plain double-rod cylinder drifts when air is lost, add a rod lock or pilot check valve if the load must stay put. This unit already includes the -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches, and FA/FB flange or LB foot mounts bolt straight to the ISO 21287 face. Order the ACED50X65 instead, as ACPD is no longer produced.
